These little babies are looking for their forever home.💖

If you're looking to adopt please send us a message.
Please note all potential adopters will have to undergo an interview and there is an adoption fee.

We sometimes get asked, why the fee?
1. The fee goes straight back into the shelter and helps cover the vaccination costs, medical bills and food for the dogs. The fee only covers a partial amount of how much the shelter spends on each dog.
2. Commitment. Having a dog is a commitment, if you can not afford the fee, can you afford to keep, look after and feed a dog?
3. To deter sellers away. Thao the owner gets a lot of people saying they will buy the dogs. She obviously says no, but these sellers will either sell to the meat market or try and resell the dogs at a hight price.

We care about each dog and just want to see them in a happy loving home.
If you can adopt or have any questions, please send us a message💖

In my puppy training course and adult dog training, along with behaviour modification sessions, I consistently emphasize the significance of understanding puppyhood stages. These early developmental phases play a crucial role in shaping your dog's adult behaviour. Now, after two years, we can clearly observe the profound impact of the COVID lockdown on puppies raised during this period. No special leash, pain, or force can effectively curb unwanted behaviour. Instead, helping your dog through proper and patient approaches helps them navigate stress and fear progressively.

Problems such as pulling on lead, clinginess or aggression were most prevalent among the pets studied

How to train your dogs to let go food, toys , etc.

Off leash tips:
1- Don't offleash your dog from the 1st time. You will set your dog to failure. Work with your dog onleash 1st.
2- Always reward your dogs when he/she come back to you (food, touch and verbal rewarding is important)
3- Find a secured area to practice.
4- Keep practicing.

The power of positive work with dogs. All anxious dogs want to feel safe somehow to overcome their fear and unfortunately, their fear is not optional. There is no tool on earth you can buy to make them feel safer unless they feel a genuine connection with another person or an animal to help them to overcome their fear in a stressful environment. This only come through genuine love and understanding of their mental needs. It doesn't come through pain and physical punishment to anxious dogs.

Slipknot leash Topic ❌

Nowadays when you walk in Thao Dien, you see lots of pet owners using Slipknot leashes( thin and short leashes) with their pets. I see dogs are tense, their eyes are red, wide-open, salivate, and dogs are on very short leashes next to their owners, they are barely able to sniff what is on the ground.

The worst part is that when the dog spots other dogs and he/she wants to go and investigate, the leash gets even shorter and tider on the dog's neck which causes serious skin marks and damage to the throat.

The question here for pet owners: Why do we take dogs out for walks? Is it just because we want them to do their potty 🚽 outside?

Walking your dogs is a very healthy routine that helps your dog to have a basic purpose in life. It's like a little job that they do. Where the dog is positioned on the walk is pointless as long as your dog is having fun on the walk. Just remember that the only time your dog is out is when you take him/her out, so please let your dog enjoy this precious time and give your dog a longer leash on the walk and a longer time outside as dogs love daily walking adventures. Let your dog say hello to other dogs ( of course with owner approval) they need the interaction. Read about the tools that you using with your pet, if your dog trainer advises on a tool, there is nothing wrong with questioning their method. Remember walking a dog should be fun for you and your dog, not a breathless journey for the both of you.

Stress is part of every dog day to day life routine. How much dogs get of it? It's based on environment and ownership. At the end of the day, it's all about the level of stress. Dogs bits or show unwanted behaviour when they are highly stressed.

What are the signs of stress in dogs??

The advice of today. Don't get a second dog if you are struggling with your 1st dog. The second dog will not educate your 1st dog and you on how to raise dogs. The situation will get even Messier.

There is no bad dogs or good dogs. There is no smart dogs or stupid dogs. There are dog owners that practise every day and dog owners don't practise every day.

Working with your dog is an everyday job not only when you have free time.

I called this walk Romeo & Juliet walk. The deep understanding and love between the dog and the onwer is so clear in this short video. I can't help repeat watching this short video between Wahshi (my dog) and my beautiful partner ❤

When dogs feel loved and safe with their human they can't find a better place than next to their loved ones. Have a lovely weekend and love your pet more.

Many dog trainers focus on theories that have no science behind them. Practice, patient, positive reward base training are the only thing make your dog walk next to you happy, proud and full of itself. Please stay away from YouTube dog trainers.

Before you do any training with your dog ask yourself the following questions;

Does my dog feel safe with me?
Does my dog trust me?
Does my dog pay attention to me?

It's important that your dog feel safe, trust and pay attention to you before training take place otherwise you are wasting your time, energy and money.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Petting is a privilege indeed.
11/08/2021

Petting is a privilege indeed.

A dog is not public property.
Nobody is entitled to touch or pet a dog.
Dogs are entitled to space and consent to be touched.
It is completely okay for a dog to say "no thank you" and NOT be pet by anyone- including any strangers, family members, and friends.
Learn the signs and signals that your dog wants space from you or from anyone else.
Advocate for your dog.
Do not let people approach or pet your dog if you know your dog does not want to be pet or approached.
Forcing a puppy or dog to interact or be touched when they do not want that contact is NOT proper socialization. In fact, it is a fantastic way to teach your dog to growl, bark, and bite in order to get space from humans or other dogs.
