Mom met a breed of dog she has never seen in person before today. He actually came to the USA from the country of his breed’s origin. What is he and where did he come from? There’s a couple clues in the picture.
We took a quick walk before Mom went to her work Christmas party.
Thanks to Leanne Tanner & Emily Humphries for sharing their chicken and steak with us. Bracken loved the steak and I loved the chicken.
We are skipping the Advent calendar tonight because of our special treats.

Does anyone see what doesn’t belong in the pile of Bracken’s food puzzles? It’s the green humane mouse trap! He took the back panel off and ate all the nuts! It cracked Mom up!
Thanks Pat Tagsold for the delicious goulash you sent for dinner.
We have a couple kittens for a few nights that could be blind. We hope that they will get some of their vision back.
Days 3 & 4 of the Advent calendar were a little boring but still tasty.

When Mom ordered her new pair of shoes she ordered one to donate too. She wears a 10 and Dr Kelly has nicknamed her feet the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth. The other pair is a more normal size 8.
Mom forgot all about our Advent calendars. We just had days 1 and 2 and they were delicious.

We had to take an early walk today because Mom had a dentist appointment.
Bracken was upset.
No mouse sightings and no one is looking for him. He may have been somebody’s lunch yesterday 😢

Bertie was spayed today. She had a terrible injury to her face that Mom stitched up last year. We’ll put the yucky pictures in the comments of her picture. Warning, they aren’t pretty.
The three dogs are purebreds. What are the first 2?
There was no sign of the mouse when Mom got home. We put the mouse live-trap out after dinner.

Rory got him this time but Mom rescued him and he went back in the tree.
The mug Eunice got for us was a foreboding but we didn’t think it would be because of a mouse!

Has anyone out there had a live mouse in their pants while they were wearing them? Asking for Mom.
The girl cats had caught a mouse in the bathroom. It ran out and they had it cornered by the front door. Mom crouched down to try to get it away from them and it crawled up her pants. She tried to carefully extricate it from her pants and it fell out and climbed into the Christmas tree. How is your evening going?
We’re pretty sure the tree will not be standing when Mom gets home tomorrow.

Our cats are actually cats and got a tiny mouse 😢. We think it was likely Ginny.
It’s raining again. We are so grateful for Mom’s waterproof shoes from Jesse & Ronda or we would have walked 9.4 miles less than we have over the past 3 days.
Bracken does not understand the concept of a rain jacket.
Karen tried to dry my face off with her hanky.

We had a nice dinner in Swanton. Mom found some yellow and black to wear for suppprt her second favorite team this week.

From the first picture you can tell that we are clearly in denial that December is a few days away.
Boots are heavy and clunky and they make Mom’s legs sore and tired. I guess they’ll have to get used to them since apparently there are no comfortable winter walking shoes.
Timmy thinks snow is stupid too.
We had a nice visit with Eunice Wheaton & Rebecca Finnegan today. They like our buffalo and goat costumes so we wore them for a little bit. Bracken tried to keep them from going home. Thanks for bringing us a big jar of peanut butter!!!

We had the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers tonight. Do you prefer your leftover turkey with gravy or in a sandwich?
Bracken played with the $1.25 teddy bear more than any $20 toys at the pet store.

Mom’s left shoe started to feel a little funny at the beginning of our walk. Then 1 mile in, 1/2 the sole fell off. We didn’t have time for Mom to go home and get another pair of shoes and get our 4 miles in before church. So Mom walked 3 miles in a reverse flip flop and had to pull out the leaves and frost balls that got stuck in it a few times. It really sunk in how important having good shoes is and inspired us to donate shoes this year. Where can we do that? Who wants to join us?
Bracken prowls across the bridge when there are 🇨🇦 geese on the other side. 🙄
He also went mouse hunting after church. Thankfully Mom was able to keep him from getting mud all over the floor.

Gma made butternut squash soup for dinner.
We were initially disappointed that we didn’t smell any protein but we loved it. Well, most of us did. We are seated in the order of who loved it the most to the least.
Cue the Tommy Boy song but change the lyrics to 🎶“Irish setter in a Chihuahua bed” 🎶 .

The barn in the first picture was one of our favorite buildings in town. We are sitting in the same spot in the second picture today. It was demolished yesterday. It makes sense that an old barn wasn’t useful in town anymore but it’s still sad to see it gone.
I visited with Addy while Bracken looked for bunnies.
We don’t so much want Ohio state to win today. We want Michigan to lose. I left a 💩 in a yard with a Michigan flag 🤣 to show my decision on the game. (Mom bagged it up.)
We were pretty close to a deer on the river path so Bracken spent most of the time looking north for it to come back.
Ginny was reaching behind the dishwasher when we got home. We took the bottom panel off and found lots of toys. So either she was reaching for them or a mouse. Hopefully without the panel it will give her a better chance of doing her feline duties.

Bracken was not fun to walk today. Mom thinks he was getting her back for spending 6 hours in the car yesterday.
Today was the only Black Friday Mom has ever had off. Our Black Friday purchase was foam to keep the mice from coming in the gaps under the kitchen sink. The red arrow is the biggest gap and the green arrow is the Brillo pad that Mom stuffed in there last year that the mice pulled out.
Mom bleached the whole area and put the foam that smells like mothballs in the gaps.
What do you call the funny looking tennis balls that a kind man gave us on our walk today?

We had a little grooming this evening. Mom didn’t have the energy to bathe us (praise the Lord) and she doesn’t think we needed a bath anyway. We go in the river everyday you know. What we did need was our toe fur trimmed and Bracken gets a thin layer of fuzzy hair on his back that needed to be removed with the Furminator. Then we had a little freshening up with some waterless shampoo.
After all that Mom got around everything she is taking to our cousins’ house tomorrow. This is the only cooking she does and no she did not bake the pie. Ava who runs Betsy’s Plant Place did. Thank you for baking it for us!
What are you making for tomorrow if you celebrate Thanksgiving?
The last picture is from Mom. She says please and thank you. (Yes, we get people food but not ham and Mom knows what we can handle. Don’t give your pets new foods just because it’s Thanksgiving 🧼📦.)

This was morning 1/5 of Mom’s time off.
I screamed because the mice have breached the Brillo pads stuffed in the gaps under the sink and have made entry.
Mom intended for us to wear our turkey accessories during the 5k tomorrow in town but that won’t be possible. The race starts at 9am and we will need to be on the road by then to get to our cousins house for Thanksgiving. Being in the car for 3 hours is so hard for all of us especially Mom because she doesn’t like to drive places she’s not used to.
Anyway we wore our turkeys for a little bit today instead.
