Since we went to Swanton yesterday, we stayed home tonight. That gave Mom a chance to stitch up the Bracken-head sized hole in the mesh on one side of the hexagonal pop-up kitty enclosure. Gerty and I took a nap.
It’s hard to see but the South-Carolina-shaped gap is actually covered with window screen.
It probably won’t make it through another work day but we’ll see what happens.

So this is what we found and disposed of today at the park. Why are there gloves? Can people no longer touch fish with their actual hands? Come on. Such a waste. We would like to say something else but will remain polite. Oh, andd its 40 steps from the river to the trash can.
I noticed that Bracken was being tailed by a small dog and an extraterrestrial. I kept my distance because he is very good with dogs and I am afraid of small dogs. This was our first contact with an extraterrestrial and Bracken was not concerned. It’s behind me isn’t it!?!?
Thanks Starling Lounge for the ice water. That was so kind. We were so warm and it cooled us right down.
We try not to post sad things but the little girl next to Janie is also Janie and she didn’t survive being swept away in the flash flooding in Texas yesterday. We wanted to put a face and an identity to those who were lost.

Yahoo and Gerty were able to stay home because they don’t want a bottle anymore. Mom put a gate around the pop-up enclosure to protect it from Bracken. He destroyed one last year trying to get to the food inside. Well, he did it again and felt bad for a couple minutes. By the time we left for the park he had forgotten all about it.
We dropped off a few cans of soup at the little
food pantry. When we opened the cupboard door, a terrible odor hit us.
Someone had put 4 heads of cabbage in there.
We think they had good intentions but we threw them away.
Don’t swat bugs away until you know what they are!

Mom picks up trash in the park. This bottle clearly stated its desired destination. We brought it home along with 2 water bottles and put them in our ♻️ bin. It would be nice to have a ♻️ container in the park but people can’t handle using a regular trash container. There’s no way they would use a ♻️ bin appropriately.
Peaches wasn’t home but another dog was in her yard.
Charlie is trying to fit. We don’t know where she is planning to ship.

Thanks everyone for adhering to the bulletin posted yesterday. There actually were a few people at the boat launch at Bracken o’clock this evening. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and walked around the park. By the time we got back they were gone.
Our feral outside cat keeps getting closer.

Blissfield Bulletin:
Attention all park goers. Please calmly exit the boat launch area at Bracken o’clock to allow my brother to watch minnows. Bracken o’clock is whenever Bracken enters the park. This evening Bracken was unable to enjoy his new, favorite hobby because there were people fishing at the only spot where he can see the minnows.

Guess which smoke/carbon monoxide detector battery went out again. The one in the crawl space of course. Mom hadn’t changed the battery in that one for about 18 years and now has had to change it twice in 6 months. This is no easy feat. The crawl space cover probably weighs around 40lbs and moving it out of there is tricky. Plus the crawl space is about 6ft deep! She’s grateful she got in and out without any issues.
It turns out we were feeding a cat since late last year. Anyone on the west side of town have a cat that looks like this one?
