Ebony Pet Services Professional 1-2-1 (no groups) Dog Walker and Pet Home Visitor covering the North Colchester Villages and surrounding area. I always carry plenty of p**p bags!

Fully Insured, DBS checked, ICO registered etc. My name is Liz and I am a Professional Dog Walker and Pet Attender. I started Ebony Pet Services on 1st January 2015, and I am pleased to say that I still work for many of the original clients who came on board back then. I currently have around 60 active clients. I love that I can share my lifelong love of animals with those who use my services. My

aim is to provide a quality service for pet owners who lead busy lives and sometimes need an extra pair of hands to ensure their beloved animals are cared for in the best possible way. I give my personal attention to each and every pet that I attend, whether that is for a home visit or on walks. My husband Pat also assists me with dog walking and pet services. For dogs, I specialise in one-to-one walks. These will normally be on-lead (for the dog's safety and our peace of mind) with the use of short or extendable leads or long lines as appropriate. Each walk/visit will be for the full time you have requested - my travel time is not taken from your pet's visit time. Should weather conditions dictate, walks will be shortened (i.e. in severe winter or excessive summer heat) but your pet will still be attended for the full time booked. Walks can be on a regular basis, 1-5 days a week and once or twice a day, or on an ad-hoc basis as and when you need them. Your pet's health, safety and welfare are my first and foremost concern at all times. I have good quality leads that are regularly checked and kept in top condition. I have towels for drying off wet paws/coats - these are never used on more than one animal and are washed after each use. I have a fluorescent jacket and lead strips for bad light. and for the summer I have a "Cool Coat" and collapsible water bowl. Hygiene is very important to me, with wipes and hand sanitiser used after each visit. For cats and other small pets I offer daily home visits - usually once or twice a day - to feed, fuss, play with and clean up for them as required. Home visits can be arranged 7 days a week, subject to my availability. They are usually between 9am and 10am and/or between 4pm and 5pm, and will normally be between 10 & 30 minutes duration, depending on the number of animals and their needs. I can also offer a pet transportation service, so if you need your animal taken to or collected from a boarding establishment, grooming parlour or even the vet, I can provide this service for you. I have both dog and cat travelling cages and a dog seatbelt & harness, used in conjunction with a back seat car "hammock" style seat liner which provides segregation from the front of the car for your pet's safety. I am fully insured to walk dogs, transport animals and to enter your property. Your keys are also fully insured against loss whilst in my possession. I have a Dog First Aid Certificate and a Dog Walking and Pet Home Sitting Diploma (Professional). I also have a clear Full DBS Check and am a member of The National Association of Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers (NARPS). I have also completed an online Pet Nutrition course and am studying Animal Care, Animal Physical Therapy, Animal Training and Pet Sitting and Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation online courses. I am registered with the HMRC and ICO (Data Protection). All bookings will be invoiced for, usually on or before the first walk/visit takes place. Payment can be made by either cash or bank transfer, preferably on or before the first walk/visit, and not later than one week after the date of the first walk/visit. Any walk/visit cancelled by an owner after payment has been received will be credited to the next invoice (or refunded) provided that cancellation is notified at least 24 hours before the walk/visit is due to take place. Any cancellations within 24 hours of the walk/visit will be subject to a minimum 50% fee retention. Any cancellations made by myself will be credited/refunded in full. My prices are very reasonable and competitive, and will depend on the services you require and your location in relation to my home area. Please contact me for an accurate quotation and availability check.

October roundup!

It's been a busy month!

120 dog walks for 18 different dogs, and 79 pet home visits for 11 families.

About 66.5 hours walking, covering around 140 miles, and over 1,000 miles driven!

Never time to get bored 🤪🐈‍⬛🐕🐈

Here's just a snapshot of some of the lovely pets I've seen this month 😁

Some photos of the many fabulous animals we've had the pleasure of taking care of during August.

Well, it looks like the summer has made a quick exit! I can't believe I was in tee-shirt last week and this week was fleece and coat weather!

I thought I'd post a few stats on our August workload (I do love a stat!) It was quite eye-opening to see it in numbers, even though I knew we were pretty much flat out every day 😁🐕🐈‍⬛.

Total visits made = 353
Cat etc visits = 282
Dog walks/visits = 71
Most visits/walks in one day = 17
Total miles driven = 1,664
Most miles driven in one day = 82 (not going further than about 7 miles from home in any direction!!)

But we have had the pleasure of taking care of 37 different households' pets, some two or three separate bookings, and its been lovely knowing that we help so many people. We've welcomed 8 new clients to our 'family' and have been so happy to see some who we only see once or twice a year.

It's been an excellent summer period!

The summer weather may be taking its time appearing, but the holiday season is certainly here for our clients!

We have bookings almost every day now for our home visit services for cats and other small animals, right through to 8th September! Some days we have up to 8 visits per day booked 🤪 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈 and of course some of our regular dog walks too 🐕

Whether you're going on holiday, away for a weekend or out for the day, we can provide home pop-in visits for your small furries (and feathers!)

We are also taking bookings for the autumn and Christmas periods, so do get in touch - its never too early to get booked in!

Midweek update.

It's the start of a busy couple of months for home pet visits, two cat families on the go this week plus an ad-hoc visit on Tuesday to long-standing Boris who I've checked in on for a number of years now. Plus all the regular dogs to have lovely walks with! I've managed to miss most of the rain so far, and it's been much nicer not being too hot to go out.

Last week threw some challenges, with only the 10am walks on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday being done. Everyone else had home visits, with a mixture of safe, shady garden play and indoor chill out time. I even had some visits from the residents puss cats (clearly playing ball is not something cats do!) Some of the dogs didn't quite get the idea of low-key games!

Thankfully Friday was a bit cooler so all 4 dogs got a walk, still keeping things low-key and with plenty of shady routes followed.

All of our regular dog owners have been contacted this weekend with details of our warm weather procedures.

We will continue to walk when safe to do so, but if we feel it's too hot for delicate paws on pavements and we don't have close access to shady or grassy areas, we will do home visits instead. Walks may be shorter with home time to fulfil the booked time. We carry water on all walks to keep dogs (and us) hydrated.

The health and well-being of our clients is top priority. No dog will die from not being walked, but heat stroke can be fatal.

Stay safe everyone, and enjoy the good weather!

It's been a super-busy Easter period, lots of home visits for puss-cats 🐈🐈‍⬛ and a lovely chicken 🐓 too! And we still had many of our regular doggos to walk 🐕 We're looking forward to seeing those who have been away over the holidays this week, back to full days walking and still doing some home visiting as well.

So.... what does a dog walker do on a day off? After a morning of admin, she decides to go out for a walk!

It was such a lovely day today, despite the wind, it was warm and sunny, so I decided to take a stroll around the perimeter of the village to see how many Easter Bunnies I could spot!

35 in just over 1.5 hours and 3.8 miles!

I'll try and cover some of the other areas over the rest of the week, I wonder how many I'll end up finding! 😁🐰 We have a lovely village!
