A friendly reminder that I am getting booked up for 2025, so if you have any dates you'd know you'd like to book, please do let me know ASAP. There is some availability around the end of January, most of February and April 2025 are available, as well as around 3 weeks in June, but only a week left available in July. There are the odd days/weekends here and there so please do ask if you need me. 😀

Things to think about if considering whether to become a pet sitter... Do you have a car and can you get to and from meet and greets, daily dog walks? Are you prepared to live out of a suitcase, sometimes for weeks on end? Can you be with the pet the majority of the day, not having visitors (unless expressly agreed by the Owner)? Are you prepared to give up your social calendar for the duration and to not be coming and going all day long or be out for longer than a couple of hours a day? Can you get a pet to the vets in an emergency? Do you know how to handle different dog behaviours and animals body language, so as to avoid any incidents? Do you have the patience to handle excessive barking, being woken through the night, dog anxiety, early mornings for feeds, playing games and providing other stimulating activities for the pet? There's alot more to pet and house sitting than meets the eye and it's not for the faint hearted. Yes, there's huge amounts of job satisfaction, but it's not something you just decide to do on a whim and it is NOT easy money. There is an awful lot you become responsible for when caring for someone's beloved pet and home. You also need to build customer relationships, manage your diary, liaise with customers regularly, answer messages in a timely manner, build a good relationship with pets- it all takes time, money and effort. I don't say this to put people off, but as something to consider.

Bare this in mind when even considering taking your pet out in the summer! Whilst we humans may appreciate some sunshine, it can make our pets very ill or even kill/burn their paws and isn't always the temperature your phone may say it is. This was taken from a thermometer in a friend's garden today in Gosport!

Please dog owners rememberif it’s hot for you to go out in a coat and exercise - It’s way too hot for your dogs
Do not walk them in mid day heat
No dog dies from from not having a walk
But they do die of burnt paws and Heat stroke!

Please use common sense

I am already getting booked up for 2025! I have secured bookings for January, February, June, September and December and am expecting more to come in over the next few weeks. My availability next year will be more limited as I will be taking 1-2 weeks for myself each month. I know a handful of local professional pet sitters who would be happy to help if I am already booked for your required dates, so please don't hesitate to ask and we will find a great solution in plenty of time. 😍

To all of my wonderful customers, I wanted to make you all aware that my availability for 2025 will be rather more limited than it has been this year. I will be taking on less sits next year to ensure I get a good balance of work and rest. I already have bookings for January, February, June, September and December. September is already fully booked. That's not to say there isn't availability for the other months, so do please ask me and I'll do my best to accommodate. I have some lovely pet sitter acquaintances that I can also highly recommend, if I am not available.

New customers: Please be advised that if I have a meet and greet booked with you ahead of specific dates, those dates will be reserved until the meet and greet has taken place. Upon a successful meet and greet, I will send out a contract and other important documents and ask for a non-refundable deposit which will be discussed at the meet and greet. Upon receipt of this and the document, the dates will be secured. If the meet and greet is cancelled by the client for any reason, the dates will no longer be reserved as I cannot keep them reserved indefinitely. I aim to carry out the meet and greet within 2 weeks of initial contact (where the sit isn't imminent) and feel this is plenty of time to keep the dates on hold, free of charge.
