Today Dexter and Freddie came for some shiny, new Perfect Fit harnesses. They wereverympdest and didn't want their photos taking though!
Freddie, the grey and white one is a Polish Lowland Sheepdog. You don't see many around these parts!

Tilly has been for a shiny new Perfect Fit harness.
I last saw her as a puppy 3 years ago when a different trainer had used harsh methods on her. She has grown up into a wonderful, friendly dog ❤️

Last night I went to help with young Bessie. She's not the best at coming back when called.
We began training it in the back garden where there were no distractions. Then we went into the front garden with more distractions.
She got 100% success rate in both situations and so we took her out on a long line and practiced in a local area. She still got 100% success rate!
We used both treats and her favourite tug toy as rewards for coming back, and also for staying with her "mum" instead of running straight off again.
Her owner has lots of practicing to do on her own with very high value treats and I will return next week.

This evening I went to help Duke's family teach him to walk nicely on the lead, and not to pester the family cats!

This Saturday one of the things we taught the puppies is Co-operative Care. We named their main body parts before touching them gently then gave them a treat. We always watch for signs that the puppy is uncomfortable with being touched.
We also introduced the puppies to equipment that they may be exposed to such as muzzles and elizabethan collars. Care must be taken to ensure that we're not moving the object onto the puppy. The puppy is allowed to take his time to choose whether to place his muzzle into the muzzle or collar. The muzzles can be oversized at this stage.

Freida thoroughly enjoyed searching for treats in the rummage box at puppy class yesterday!
Don't throw away your delivery boxes. The packaging is perfect for enrichment for lots of species!
I use it for my cats aswell as my snakes!

One of the most important behaviours the puppies learn from the beginning of puppy school is how to settle.
This Saturday the puppies were smashing their settle during what was only their second week!
