Before and after of Jackpot

Here is the original story we posted below.

The suffering 😞 never ends.
One of our longtime dedicated fosters reached out early this morning July 24th by messenger and this is what she said

“My boss just found a skinny kitten in the middle of the road on the way to work and is on his way in with it. (he was actually coming out of a tipped over trash can that was on the side of the road of a neighborhood with several unaltered cats having kittens)
Mike is setting up a crate in our bathroom. We will figure out a space: Not sure if ASAP is able to support right now and I’m not sure what condition but I couldn’t say no. Guess I’ll figure it all out later. I’ll send more information when have it.”

Of course we said yes. As soon as the kitten got to her workplace, she grabbed it and went straight home and got to work on him. He is such a little boy that most likely has never eaten on his own and only nurse from his mama. So as you can see the one video, they finally got him to figure out how to eat. This is such a victory 😃

And as she states she figured it out. As you can see in the pictures and video this little guy is in bad shape.
If Only people would spay and neuter we wouldn’t have this problem that becomes everybody else’s problem.
So again we are asking for donations. We know you are tired of it, but we are also frustrated and exhausted. And even though it’s not your fault or our fault, we still have to continue to do our best.
The Foster has named this little boy Jackpot, and that’s exactly what happened to him this morning. So this one will be fine. This one will make it, but there are many out there that won’t and we can only do so much😞.

In the last few weeks, this boy has made a miraculous recovery and transformation and he truly did hit the jackpot. He was one lucky boy, and with a quick actions of the finder and our foster parents. He will have a full loving life
He was given a lot of TLC, medicines, vitamins, high calorie food and now he’s looking for a home. Jackpot is now been neutered, utd on shots, given rabies vaccine, he is -4FIV/FELV, wormed and flea treated and his adoption fee is $75 cash
We believe he is a young 12 week old boy and he is ready for a family. He’s very sweet and loving and has acclimated well to the Foster‘s cats and dogs and would probably love another playmate in the home.
He is still in his foster home, but we can arrange a meet and greet if you are interested in him.
When you adopt from ASAP, you sign a contract agreeing that our cats cannot go outside or live outside and they cannot be declawed. We want them to be treated like family members and well loved.
Also, if you have existing pets, we recommend to acclimate slowly and here is a link that will guide you through that process.

Before and after of Delta Dawn

Remember Delta Dawn that we posted On June 13th when she was trapped along with several kittens, (some could have been hers) by a tnr group that fixes cats and releases them back to the area where they are continued to be fed so they will not add to the over population of cats and kittens in our area.
Unfortunately, the cats and kittens in this area were not being well cared for
So when she was trapped and made her way to the vet, she was deemed not a candidate for spay surgery due to being emaciated, dehydrated and sick. Under that beautiful fur coat was a rack of bones.
Luckily, that day a member of ASAP was at the vet and took her home to hopefully get her healthy enough to be spayed. With medicines, fluids, high calorie wet kitten food along with kitten formula. She made a wonderful recovery.
A few weeks after that, she was healthy enough to be spayed and she also had to have a polyp removed from her throat.
A few days later, she became snotty and was put on antibiotics, but she never got better.
We returned to the Vet were they did
x-rays and put her on prednisone which has not made a difference.
x-rays were repeated, and her lungs still look the same so she has been switched to a stronger antibiotic which has taken care of the problem
We are excited to say she has more than doubled her weight since we have taken her in and she is a healthy 8+ pounds now. She is doing wonderfully and is now up for adoption at Petsmart in Barboursville WV.
We believe she’s around one and a half to two years old. She is extremely sweet and loving and demands attention and is a true lap cat. But remember she has been in a foster home for over two months so she will need time to get used to new people in places. But once she trust you, you will be her best friend.
She is now spayed, so no more babies for her, Up-to-date on shots, given rabies vaccine, negative 4FIV/FELV, wormed and flea treated. Her adoption fee is $75 cash.
When you adopt from ASAP, you sign a contract agreeing that our cats cannot go outside or live outside and cannot be declawed. We want them treated like family members and be loved like they deserve to be.
She did well around the Foster‘s cats and most likely would do well around dogs, but we always recommend acclimate slowly to homes with existing pets and here is a link that will guide you through that process and we highly recommend to read all the recommendations.

Finn (Siamese male) Sorcha (gray tabby female) and Ignatius (grey tabby white feet male) atr siblings that were an accidental birth to an unaltered cat, and when the people could not find homes for them, they went to Walmart stood in the parking lot and tried to get them adopted. One of our fosters happen to be there and took them home with her to Foster. This would not have happened had Mama have been fixed in the first place. There are too many animals in this world versus Adopters.
They have been in a foster home for two months now, and they are ready to find families. All too often when people find homes for kitties on their own they do not get fixed which creates more problems of more unwanted animals
These three were lucky ones and they are now spay and neuter up-to-date on shots rabies vaccine - 4FIV/FELV, wormed and flea treated.
They are up for adoption at Petsmart in Barboursville West Virginia and their adoption fees are $75 cash each. They are around 16 weeks old now.
They were in a foster home with dogs and cats and doing well, but we always recommend acclimate slowly to homes with existing pets and here is a link that will guide you through the process

Bolt had a very sad start to the beginning of his life. Bolt and some other kittens, at least two different litters, were rescued by good a
Samaritan when some people had a cat that just kept having kittens after kittens and then just throwing them outside to fend for themselves. These people saw the kittens, inquired about them and decided to take them. They had them for approximately two weeks before ASAP was asked to help. They were able to foster them so we said yes. little bolt had very infected eyes, was anemic, emaciated, full of flea and worms. Just like most kitties tossed outside, he was on the verge of death. Six weeks later and he is thriving and doubled his weight. We believe he is around 16 weeks old now, and unfortunately, his eyes sustained some damage due to the infection. Having said that it is what it is and he can partially see out of his left eye, but not his right. The doctor says they are fine. They do not need removed and they do not bother him.
He is extremely sweet and affectionate, but he is a kitten and still loves to play.
He was in a foster home with dogs and cats and well, but we always recommend acclimate slowly to home with existing pets and there will be a link at the bottom of the page. I will get you through that process.
He is at Petsmart in Barboursville West Virginia and his adoption fee is $75 cash.
He is neutered, up-to-date on shots, given rabies vaccine, negative for FIV/FELV, wormed and flea treated.
When you adopt from ASAP, you sign a contract, agreeing or cats cannot go outside or live outside and cannot be declawed. We want them to be loved and treated like family members.
