Henry is learning! He has some stressors we are working through but he is willing to participate. He is starting to wear his remote collar and will get some test runs today. I like to find the lowest setting they recognize and ask them to do a few cues and then we move on. Tomorrow we will use it for everything and as the week goes on he should be listening well. The. We make the switch and only use it when non complaint. Let's go Henry!

We have Henry doing a two week board and train. He needs to work on everything. The biggest issue is his resource guarding and reactivity. We are doing as much as possible as always in the two weeks to gain control on and off leash and to also establish some new rules.

Andy stayed in place during this video. Ranger only came out twice. It's important to understand that every dog has their own understanding. The important part is always helping them fix the mistakes that are made to make them more obedient. Every dog will break cues sooner or later but it's our job as the pet parent to make things how we want them. It is easier said than done but most things are possible.

This is what I'm dealing with. Keeping one dog in place while I give the other permission. I can also release them both and send one or both back. I had to correct each of them a few times but it is part of the process. You will even see me use my legs to push the dogs toward place when they are not listening. This is about 3 minutes of working. Good job Ranger and Andy!

Acorn has accomplished everything she needs to continue to be successful with her family. She understands loose leash walking, the remote collar and all the cues. The biggest thing is just taking time with introductions when needed. Great job Acorn!

Dave is starting to understand when he hears "no" it means he isn't done with the task and to keep working. Acorn is working hard to not escape the situation.

Dave has a good foundation so we must move on and find some trouble to get into to make sure he doesn't pull his move over again.

Maggie is doing great with her leash walking and focusing more on where I am and also leaving things alone that she is interested in. We passed an outdoor cat, dogs, people and some squirrels.

Check out Aloha who did a board and train a while back! She is listening well even with a big buck in the yard and no remote collar!

Remy doing good work walking. I think she will always need reminding on occasion but does really well 90% of the time.

Sometimes when the dogs get too crazy I'll make them all be still until I'm ready for another round. This will also typically lower everyone's excitement level as well. Remy is doing well listening at this point but we have to keep pushing her to do better!

Such a nice day out! Just a quick tour of our yard that dogs get to explore when we have board and trains. Thought I would show you that we finally have a fenced in yard and the kennel area behind the pole barn is all fenced in for when we are ready to board more dogs and have doggie daycare. Currently the only dogs boarding with us are the ones doing a board and train or have already gone through our programs. We also got our heating and cooling installed in the pole barn as well to keep the dogs cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

We have champ and Maverick just boarding and Lyra is here for some doggie daycare action. Then we have Remi working on her off cue just letting her know not to jump when she gets close and while wanting to play. The extra dogs definitely help with the training. My own dogs help but sometimes get bored near the end of the first week so it's nice to keep things exciting. Not only can we assume the jumping will happen and give her a cue that she knows we will follow through but we can also give an alternative behavior such as a sit. Off will be more corrective but sit will be more positive. Over enough repetitions she should start to pick the alternative behavior getting much more praise and attention..
