We see him everyday struggling in the cage but we cant do anything else for him. The handsome segugio crossed breed, is Amares and hes now close to 2 years old. 2 years is not old, hes a young pup, a teenager. Its a shame to be in a cage when he should be running in the countryside and enjoy life.
We believe Amares a segugio italiano and english pointer crossbreed. Hes got characteristics of both breeds and its obvious in his look. Both breeds and especially the segugio, are sensitive and kind hearted breeds. Both are active and love to be in nature, to run for hours if possible. This doesn't help Amares whos unfortunately in a cage almost 24/7. The dogs have their play time in the shelter but when they are large size, young and active like Amares, half an hour they play aren't enough.
Amares is sociable, hes fine with every dog and especially humans. Not good with cats and he barks like crazy when he sees one. Like all hounds he puts his nose down and starts sniffing, he wants to know everything thats going on. He will vome to you for a stroke and if he sees you have treats, he will love you! Hes a cheeky young hound boy bless him.
We 're begging you to give him a chance. Amares is already a year with us and hes been in a cage before he was abandoned. We have Neri almost a year now. Shes a beautiful young pointer and we feel so sorry for her. Shes an active dog of course, she loves running up and down which she can do as shes almost 24/7 in a cage. She goes out when its play time only when its late in the afternoon since its too hot at daytime. Tomorrow theres a red warning for temperatures over 42c. We cant walk any dog, they will go out for 20-30 minutes when the sun starts to go down to avoid any heatstroke. Neri is a dog that walks up and down checking everything that passes. Shes an active 2 year old pointer, what else would she do? She sould 've been in fields running and sniffing her heart out. Not be stuck in a shelters cage.
Please help her find a home. Shes been enough and she deserves a loving home from now own. Shes healthy, sociable, friendly with dogs and humans. No cats though or birds or any other smallish animal she can see as a prey. Shes definitely a pointer so its dogs and humans. As always we ask for a homecheck and an adoption fee.

When this gorgeous boy was a pup, he was in foster care but the foster home couldn't keep him for long so he was returned. Then he hit his eye and got an infection causing him to lose almost his full eyesight at the left eye. No one wants him which is a shame cause hes one of the most well behaved dogs we have at the shelter. Hes amazing on lead, friendly with all dogs and loves humans. After all this time in a cage, hes not into cats but thats cause he never met one from close. Even though we believe he would never hurt anyone due to his kind character.

We knew Alina was scared but we didn't know she would be so much! The sweet little stray lady, is what we call a pocket size pointer. Shes 12-24 kilos so just over small size and barely into medium. Shes has a sweet and timid character but last 2-3 weeks shes becoming more and more afraid. At the afternoon when all dogs go out for playing or run around like loonies, shes the only one that will go out to do her toilet and then go in the cage and hide in the doggy house. Today we closed the door to her pen cause we didnt want to go hide. You can see her reaction, shes terrified and tries to find even a hole to sneek in the pen to to go to her cage/house. We did some touching, some stroking slowly when she was coming to us but we didnt push her. We let her come to us in her own time so wont feel pressured. Hopefully tomorrow we will have more stroking and maybe even a small cuddle.
It hurts us seeing a dog like this. We dont even want to think what her owner has done to her. Humans have failed her badly and caused her all these fears. Poor baby, we wish we could tell her that she will never go hungry and hurt again.

Hes a cutie isnt he? The little guy is a 3,5 months old pup. Hes one of 2 spitz crossbreed pups we got. Their owner handed them over and it was maybe the quietest hand over in our history!!! The pups unfortunately were very scared and only yesterday the little guy you see playing with us came forward.
Its a shame but they have all the chance now to find homes and be happy. We dont know their father but the mom is a german spitz. The second pup which is the beige pup showing at the back of the video, looks a lot like a kokoni so maybe the dad is a kokoni. 🤷♀️ Both are so eager to be loved and play. They arent so much socialised but we 're working on this of course.

We went and visited this goofy baby at the vet clinic. He was asleep and we woke him up. He didnt even wonna get up the lazy boy but we forgive him. Archie went through a lot the last days and hes allowed to be spoiled.
Hes still at the vets for 2 reasons. First we need to find him a foster or forever home locally. Due to his epilepsy and situation, we will not be rehoming him abroad. If he could see, we would have left him with us at the shelter. Unfortunately the place is at the side of the hill so a blind dog will teip and fell hurting himself.
The second reason was that yesterday he had his eyes checked up. Yes, more tests and this one we will pay it but we dont care. The ophthalmologist check him thoroughly and didnt find any damage in his eyes. He cant see due to the pressure put by the fits he does. The more stressed he is, the more fits and he cant see. This explains why when his calm, he can see shapes.
Archie needs a home and very urgent. We dont know what else to do for someone to foster him. Hes such a sweet boy and its such a shame that no one wants him. If you live in Cyprus and can help this sweet boy, please message us.
Shes in a cage her whole life. We have Sabina for just over 2 years now and she was 7-8 months old when we found her. Her owner told us that she found her as a stray and give her to us. Ever since shes with us at the shelter.
This big girl is a pointer/staffy mix and shes amazing with humans. Due to knowing only us and the shelter dogs, shes not so socialised with dogs as we would like her to be. She adores humans and would be the best friend for her owner. Shes a guard, a goofy girl, a polite and playful girl. We would honestly keep her but she hates cats and we have lots of them.
We would love to see her in a home ut almost everyone, says shes large and old so they prefer a pup. Message us if you can help her. You will love her.
Seeing this album, Dario makes us think that maybe hes not so old. But then again hes a spaniel so hes a forever pup. 🙂 Yes, we finally manage to send him to a foster home for a week so we can see how hes doing and as you can see hes amazing.
The sweet adult spaniel is walking and even runs a bit without any issues. He knows his weakness and he adjusted to it. You can see in the video that if he runs, he hops holding up the leg with the deformed paw. He can have a normal life without any mobility issues. We understand that people are afraid of how he walks or run but here is the proof. He can have a normal life if he walks with caution.
In case that he will have a long walk in the woods or countryside, he can wear a boot. He doesn't need the prosthetic paw to live with quality. The prosthetic is a suggestion to help him be better cause the leg with the deformed paw, is a bit shorter due to not being normal. If he ever has an injury on that leg, it can be amputated as it would be done to any other dog.
Please dont be afraid of him. Hes adorable, well behaved and seriously amazing. Hes going for walks with the lead like any other dog. Dario adjusted to his problem and lives like any other dog. Please give him the schance to be happy.
Its not just cleaning the dogs and feeding them when we 're at the shelter. We have lots of things to do and one of them, its walking the dogs. With the handicap dogs and our oldies, we go late afternoon when its cooler cause during the day we have temperatures over 40c. So when the sun starts to set, we start our small walks. Ramone, Ariel, Rena and a few others just love them cause they enjoy our company as well and the treats of course. 😁
Ramona is not just old, shes more skinny and slow in how she moves due to her age. Plus she has an old fracture and her owner didnt take her to the vet to treat her injury. @ The bones set uneven and she cant walk normally. Instead of helping his dog, her owner abandoned her.😔 Locals are so cruel when it comes to animals. Ramona or Moni as we call her, can only go a walk for around 500m and she gets tired. She needs a loving home with a comfy bed, not a noisy crowded shelter.
This handsome boy is Yoshi, one of Ramonas pups. Hes 1,5 years old and of course hes a tall slim boy like all lurchers. Ramona is a greyhound so that makes her pups lurchers. Yoahi spend his life at the shelter waiting for someone to love and adopt him. So far 6 of his siblings are adopted and Sefi is in foster care in Uk.
This young lurcher boy has a sweet and loving character. Hes gentle and doesn't have a bad bone in his body. He only was to play and have lots of cuddles. Not a hyper or yappy dog so hes ideal for a quiet family as well.
Please offer this gorgeous boy a home. Its a shame to grow up in a cage, he needs the help.

Sweet Adana still needs a home. She over 1,5 years old now and we have her since she was 4 months n old. 😔 Adana and her 2 sisters Tala and Amara, are 3 shepherd crosses who were found abandoned in the fields starving. They were brought to us and ever since we trying to find them a home without luck. Its unfair to them cause they are beautiful and sweet girls. They dont know what a home is but they have a heart full of kindness and they can learn easily cause they 're smart.
Adana is living with Fluffy in her cage whos one of our scared and non rehomable doggies. She protects Fluffy and you can see that shes standing in front of her when we 're trying to take a video of Fluffy. Shes seriously so sweet and kind hearted. Doesn't she deserve a home? Shes always smiling, always the kindest soul. Ariel is doing very good at the shelter. As you can see shes roaming free cause shes cat friendly. She would never hurt anyone, she has the kindest soul.
We love this girl and she loves humans even though she spend almost 4 months at the vet with doing 4 operations. Ariel if you remember was found at the side of the highway. A car hit her at the left side and broke her left legs, front and back plus the left side of her jaw. She is the dog with the most expensive recovery, her operations cost over €2300 and we still owe it. She was worth it though.
Now she is with us after her foster parents had to go to their country for 2 months and except the pesky pups that roam around messing with everyone, she likes the freedom. Shes mostly close to the shelters area though cause the rest place has an altitude. The shelter is build in a farm at the side of the hill so theres a lot of uphills and not so easy for her to climb. Thats why she went to a foster home to recover, the uphills of the place. She can damage her legs if she falls.
The sweetest lady needs a forever home and if she finds it, it would be amazing. She doesn't need any medical care from now on for her legs, shes finished with operations. Only thing she needs is a home and please offer her one. She so much deserves it.
Work never ends when you 're dealing with animals especially with so much heat. Its almost 21:00 and we 're still checking and cleaning cages. We want the pups and basically every dog to be clean. Plus its cooler to work such hours than 15-16:00 in the afternoon.
After we finish the work we need to do and the dogs sleep, we stop for a cool drink and then shower, get something to eat and try to rest. Our job never finishes and thats cause we dont have much help. We want help and badly but the summer is so hot that everyone prefers to go the beach than come and help us clean and feed stray dogs.
We need urgently help with finishing 3 cages. We need someone that knows about welding, building, a carpenter cause we 're need also to make 2 rooms for people to stay when they come over to help. There is a room for sleeping and all the facilities but its a common room and we understand that people may need to be on their own, to have some privacy than having 15 dogs wanting cuddles all the time.
If only we had more help, we would do so much more. Who would give up though their holidays to come and stay at a shelter and clean, feed and play with stray dogs?
Α video that brought tears in our eyes. 🥹 Zander or Zandy boy in his foster home in Oxford, Uk and having the time of his life!! He is playing with his ball and doing zoomies like every dog should do. We couldn't be happier for him, he finally has a home even if a foster but hopefully soon he will have his forever home. We owe a huge thank you to his foster family for taking him. They are a busy household with 4 young kids, 4 dogs of various sizes and 4 cats. Zandy is doing amazingly with his new fur friends and 2 legged siblings. This is what we were saying about his character but we had no way of proving it since he lived in a cage. Hes got such an amazing character like all of Thalias pups. He is a big fur bundle of kindness and happiness.

We took this video to show you how gorgeous Mika is. He started teething and hes got that pointy piranha teeth now. He wants something to bite all the time and play. His characteristics as you can see are the normal kokoni ones. He is a very sweet and beautiful little pup bless him.
You can see also his eyes and see what we ment on the previous posts for him. The right eye is swollen and almost white. That one is totally blind and at some point he may have to remove it with an operation. The left one isnt swollen, its almost normal with having some white in the center. The white patch on his eyes are the wounds of where his eyes were scratched. He can see with the left eye but only shapes. He can move around the house without any issue, he wont bump onto furniture. Iits like having a normal pup in the house, just a more quiet one cause he knows his limits.
Mika needs a forever home instead of a foster home. He needs also fostering but we believe its best to learn and new environment without having to move again and again. If he moves into different foster homes, it will only stress him more. Message us if you interested in this cutie. Hes more than adorable, hes a little miracle and he deserves the best.
Shelby is such a good boy that even Echo the swiss shepherd pup bosses him and shes younger. He is a labrador/spaniel/staffy?/whatever crossbreed and he is adorable. Hes 5 months old and will be medium size. He was found with his sister abandoned next to some cow farms and now we 're looking for homes for both of them. Please help him find a home. He doesn't need to get stuck at the shelter and grow up in a cage.

Its feeding time and this big lady decided to help herself with the food. 😂 Nyx inspite her size, can easily jump the 3,5 ft and climb on the bench to eat from the bag. Sabina also jumps easily on the bench, Cora. The others dont dare to jump and wait for us to clean their cages and then put them food.
Nyx has now calmed down to be honest. The first few weeks, she inhaled the food. She was going mad when she saw bowls and the bag of food. She was swallowing the food in her bowl, she wouldnt even chew it. We knew she was starved and we gave her time to realise that she will always have food from now on. Now she calmed down. She eats normally and doesn't bully the others as well to eat their food. Shes a lovely lady and if she didnt hate cats so much, she would roam free. Unfortunately she hates cats but shes amazing with humans and dogs.
We love this pointer lady and we wish she would find a home. Shes not old, shes adult and we estimate her around 3-4 years old cause we can see that shes a bit childish yet. Shes at least 25 kilos now and trust us shes a stunning dog. Her daughter Zola is adopted in Uk and Zuri still waits for her chance to find a home.

Shes gorgeous but unfortunately shes still in a cage. Suya, the beautiful lurcher girl is one of Ramonas pups. 7 of them are adopted and 3 still with us at the shelter. This sweet girl has the typical greyhound body, tall and slim. Shes born to run with speed and enjoy life. We cant give her here cause this is a shelter. We have a yard for them to play but its not huge. Shes almost 1,5 years old and she spent her life in a cage. 😔 We wish that people would see how beautiful she is in character as well. Suya is so friendly with dogs, cats and humans of course. She would bever hurt anything. The last of Thalias pups thats at the shelter, Zander. He is a wire/shepherd crossbreed around 2 years old. He is large size of course, around 25 kilos. A big puppy full of love for everyone. Hes amazing with humans, others dogs and cats, a goofy boy. These pups dont have a bad bone in their body and they are amazing characters.
Now that its summer, hes spending his time chilling and trying to stay cool. We have temperatures from 35c to 42c so its not cold. Its actually a very hot summer and all the dogs in Cyprus suffer from the heat. The dogs have a play time and they run up and down playing and getting all the energy out, but its at the afternoon. Before, its too hot and everyone is lying down like Zandi.
We wish that someone would fall in love with him and give him a home. He deserves it and all of the pups would be into homes. Hes a gorgeous doggy and he deserves the best. For adopting him, please message us.
We brought Yona to the shelter. When we saw her, we regret not taking her earlier but we didnt have space. Not that we have now, our situation is still the worst the last few years with the cages full of dogs.
We got 2 years ago Yonas siblings and now we took her and her son or brother to help them find a home. Yona is almost 2,5 years old. Shes a bit bigger that her other sister Boo. Shes got a solid body as you can see but short as well as the other 3 siblings. She has long fur like a kokoni but now shes bold in some places due to fleas and ticks. Unfortunately her owner couldn't afford to buy deflea treatment for them so she is in this situation. In a couple of months her fur will be back to normal.
Yona is a shy, sweet young doggy who loves people when she gets to know them of course. Shes still shy with us but this video was taken a few days after we brought her to the shelter. Now shes much better thank god. Yona is house trained but with being kept in a cage, it will be difficult to stay trained. She loves playing but doesnt know much about walking with a lead. Shes sociable with dogs and humans but not cats.
We would love to see her in a home, shes such a loving little girl. She adjusted being in a cage but its very heartbreaking to get a dog from a home and put it in a cage, in a shelter.
