Meet Harley! These are some short clips of our training progression over a short period. She has been so much fun to work with!

Handing a treat to your dog is great, but it is most often going to be less rewarding and less motivating than more dynamic food rewards, especially when dealing with complex behaviors.
These are 3 simple ways to increase the value of your food rewards, increasing motivation for the behavior that precedes the reward.
Don't be afraid to try new things with your food rewards, making them more dynamic and exciting will create much more attentiveness and willingness to learn from your dog ๐ถ๐

Maggie's doing a wonderful job! She has a past history of jumping on family/guests, being a very large dog it doesn't take much to knock someone over.
The priority should be the behavior rather than verbal cues. The behavior should drive the reward. Once the behavior occurs ( in this scenario laying down/calm), the reward comes (the guest). Over time this will become her new response when a guest greets her.
If you're struggling with jumping issues, feel free to message me to schedule an appointment!
This video may not seem like much but this is one of my very first clients. Panda suffered from a high level of anxiety & fear of people (especially in her home).
Her normal routine would consist of barking at people in the home for at least 40 minutes, any sudden movements would startle her and initiate the barking again. After a few sessions we seen a great amount of progress, however this is about 6 months later and it makes me super happy to see a confident dog now, who is even willing to initiate play with me ๐โค๏ธ๐
Did you know a wagging tail is not always an invitation to be greeted?
A wagging tail means a general state of arousal, signifying happiness, interest, nervousness, anxiety and/or feeling threatened. The speed at which the tail is wagging is a measurement of the state of arousal. ๐๐
Not the best quality, but super proud of Cash with his recall so far after just two sessions! His response time is fantastic, next step is adding distractions. ๐
If you would like to teach your pup/dog a reliable recall, send me a message ๐
1) A recall should be motivating/enjoyable for your dog.
2) The length of the reward event when he arrives should vary, keeping your dog with you when he comes instead of releasing them right away is important.
Cash is a very high energy dog. Like with most we need to help them place their energy properly. Rather than being engaged in the environment, being engaged with the handler should be a much better option.

Just a quick SNEAK PEAK.. Our next raffle draw for free training sessions are approaching in just a few weeks!! The draw is going to occur slightly differently this time, names will be drawn out of a bowl during a live chat... Mythra is learning to be our little helper by drawing the names, the first step is having her take and hold a piece of paper, the next step is transferring it to have her take it out of the bowl!

START IMPROVING YOUR RECALL TODAY! Movement is inherently reinforcing for a dog, us this to your advantage! As time goes on the movement we make becomes less and less, however initially it is very motivating and reinforcing for a dog!
This is a small degree of Buster's reactivity. He did amazing today, Buster is reactive towards people, children, bicycles and dogs, most of which we encountered today with no reaction with our management plan!

This is Tipper, she is a Husky/Lab mix who is a sweet girl but very excitable when guests arrive, jumping and biting anyone who enters the house. After 2 sessions with Tipper, she has come a long ways and is beginning to understand that there are alternative behaviours.
You can see she is still excited to see someone, however we cannot eliminate excitement out of a dog, instead we can show them a better way to use their excitement rather than jumping and biting.

Good luck to everyone! There will be 2 winners today, each winning a free dog training session!
After two sessions, Napoleon is able to make decisions on his own already and chooses to sit at the table rather than jumping as he previously used to. #progress #goodboy
