It's Ice-a-lympics time and we have Team USA competing for gold! Brynja beat all challengers for the timed teeter - Archer did earn points for style.

Congratulations to Lauren and pending AKC Confirmation new AKC Champion Fox Meadow Isstorms Dokkur Riddari "Aiden." (Fox Meadow Skrymir Gammsson x Fox Meadow Vetrarkonungs Snjokista) bred by myself, Charlotte Ericsson Taylor, Elaine Mozur, and Dolores Porrino. Lauren and Aiden earned their first point in Lebanon, PA last August and earned their last point there too this August, under Judge Walter Sommerfelt. All points earned were owner handled by Lauren, including 2 four point majors, 2 three point majors and 1 single. Aiden is Lauren's first show dog - I'm so happy for them and the team they've become

This is a big shout out to our Fox Meadow Family - thank you for getting out there and proving the Fox Meadow Gang in all manner of sports and disciplines. Since 2010 the Fox Meadow Gang has earned 260 AKC titles. (this doesn't include other non-AKC venues you have all competed in or the dogs titled overseas). Thank you so much for showing the canine community how awesome the Icelandic Sheepdog can be.

The Fox Meadow Gang is sending a Big Congratulations to Amber and Fox Meadow Thrumusnjor Dreka Fru "Skava" on completing their AKC Championship under judge Gloria Kerr this weekend in Doswell, VA. All of Skava's points earned were 100% owner handled by Amber.

The following day, Amber graciously kept Skava a class dog to allow the remaining class bitch to point, judge Larry Abbott had other plans, putting Skava and Amber up as Best of Breed over ranked specials on pro-handlers for a 5 point major from the classes.

Skava became the 3rd generation of AKC Champion bi***es in her pedigree beginning with her imported granddam AKC Ch Iseyjar Mjoll. The Gang wishes Team Skava's future success with all their edeavors. So sad, the dog show community lost a beloved member last week.

We are all deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Kaz Hosaka, a legendary handler and cherished member of the Westminster family.

Kaz's kindness, dedication, passion, and exceptional talent left an indelible mark on the world of dog shows. Our deepest condolences to his wife Roxanne and their family, and all who knew and loved him.

This new ruling will essentially kill rare breeds trying to establish themselves here in the USA. It is incredibly hard to integrate 6 plus month old puppies into an established pack, not only that - you miss essential socialization periods and it will be very difficult to have overseas breeders keep dogs for you until they are 6 months old. Call your Representatives in Washington - these problems started because of rescue groups fudging entry paperwork and health clearances - not the responsible purebred dog breeders.

On May 13, the CDC published new federal dog importation regulations that go into effect August 1st. (Federal Register, Document Number 2024-09676).
In a shocking example of government overreach that will have negative effects on dog lovers and small businesses nationwide, the 311-page document is a poorly written and unactionable "one size fits all" solution for the importation of dogs from every country in the world with no exemptions for the military, government employees working abroad, or service dogs in training as puppies.

Today is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. The Invasion of Normandy, named Operation Overlord, brought an invasion force including 7,000 ships and landing craft manned by over 195,000 naval personnel from eight allied countries. Almost 133,000 troops from the United States, the British Commonwealth, and their allies, landed on D-Day. Casualties from these countries during the landing numbered 10,300. By June 30, over 850,000 men, 148,000 vehicles, and 570,000 tons of supplies had landed on the Normandy shores. Fighting by the brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen of the allied forces western front, and Russian forces on the eastern front, led to the defeat of German N**i forces. On May 7, 1945, German General Alfred Jodl signed an unconditional surrender at Reims, France.
