Hi everyone,

Apologies for the bombardment of updates today, but we have one more for you.

After the huge response from today's Storytime - and it certainly seemed to be very popular - from tomorrow, we will be launching our YouTube channel. At 2pm each day you can watch Stu or me talking and showing animals, answering your questions, taking you behind the scenes at the zoo or even hosting story time.

To be part of this then you need to subscribe to our brand new channel (and don't forget to share this and tell everyone) because for the live stream to work, we need 1000 subscribers.

So stop whatever you're doing and click the link and make sure you subscribe.

Ranger Stu

Happy New Year!

Sorry we haven’t posted to this page in a long time !

Rest assured Nick and Stu are still active, busy educating and entertaining the public about the natural world!

Our zoo Cedars Nature Centre has been open for an entire full year now and if you haven’t visited don’t forget to head over and say hello.

Ranger Stu has also launched a brand new page for his events.
You can follow his adventures and maybe even learn some interesting animal facts along the way.
So if you have ever had a birthday party with Ranger Stu or even if you haven’t give the page a like 😀👍

Ranger Stu has been working in schools in London and the surrounding counties for over 10 years!
Educating children all about the natural world!

Cedars Nature Centre

Hi everyone,

We haven't updated this page for ages and you've probably wondered where Stu and I have been?!

If you weren't aware, we've spent the last year or so building a zoo.

This is now open and we are already getting fantastic feedback from those who have visited.

By combining our various interests and strengths - animal husbandry, conservation, education and, of course, our presentations - we have really found our niche!

The local paper have just featured us on their online editorial and we will be featured in their print version shortly. (Link is via the CNC page).

As you are clients who we've had great pleasure in meeting over the years, it would be remiss of us not to invite you to come and visit when you can. We'd love to see you again.

The zoo is free to visit (no entrance fee) to ensure its inclusive to everyone. We have been funding this via kind donations and by 'hiring' our animals for the presentations you may have seen us at.

Please can you check out and join this venture and please, please, please, share with all your family and friends!!!

It's been an incredible journey thus far, and it's only just the beginning.

Dear All,

I am nearing the completion of the first phase of the build. A few more weeks and I should be done!!

I have a favour to ask of you or your partners/friends, who are in the 'building trade'.

Does anyone have a Paslode 2nd Fix nail gun that I may borrow for a few weeks? I've some snagging to complete in the tropical house, meerkat enclosure, owl aviaries etc and my first fix is too 'heavy duty'.

Also, if you are an electrician or plumber and would like to quote for some work at CNC, please contact me (private message) and I would be happy to give you some more on the spec. The work will need to be completed before 12th July latest and the electrical work undertaken will also need to be certified.

Please would you share this with anyone who might be able to help. Although we are not expecting 'favours' we would be grateful of any reductions in your normal rates!! As a way of acknowledging any generosity, we will be ensuring our 1600+ Facebook followers know all about you!

Also, if you have any timber, intact pond membrane (6x4 meters minimum), large rocks to make a pond rockery, or any other items of building material that you don't want and think might be of use, please get in touch!

Finally, we are now looking for local small businesses to 'sponsor' the various enclosures. If you are interested in having your business name on one of the builds - the John Doe Electrician Cockatiel Aviary - for example, then please get in touch.

The meerkat enclosure has been sponsored by Freddie Pearce and the Skunk enclosure has been named - The Beaumont Timber Lodge - owing to their huge generosity of donated timber over the last 12 months.

We would like your name on the owl enclosures, the parakeet aviary, zorilla enclosure, tropical house, raised pond and our huge double aviary for budgies and cockatiels then please get in touch. This can be flexible on a year or more term.

The footfall at Cedars Park exceeds 250,000 per year with projections indicating that CNC will increase this to close to 300,000 per year!

Today we gave all our rodents a thick cardboard tube to chew on! As you can see one of our duprasi was so happy she nearly fell over! Rodents have continually growing teeth and require lots of gnawing opportunities to keep them in check. You can entertain your own pet rodents at home by giving them lots of cardboard tubes and boxes, there are also lots of chew toys and blocks made specially for keeping those teeth trim!

I caught our Chilean Rose tarantula Tallulah cleaning her fangs the other day, I thought some of you may appreciate it... others less so!
