💖 Your Help is Needed 💖 Tonight, we’re hitting the road for a very special rescue mission, and we need your support to make it happen! Our incredible team is on their way to North Carolina to pick up 11 dogs in need of a second chance, just in time to kick off our founder’s birthday weekend. 🎉 There’s no better way to celebrate than by saving lives, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Our dedicated driver, Albert, is spending the night in Lumberton, NC, so he can start bright and early tomorrow, picking up pups from multiple shelters, including Caring Hearts for Canines in Aberdeen, NC. These dogs will be transported north to safety, thanks to the tireless efforts of our amazing shelter partners—A New Chance Animal Rescue and Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue—who have stepped up to give these pups the loving homes they deserve. 🏡

But we can’t do it alone. Every rescue mission comes with significant costs—gas, lodging, supplies, and more. We need your donations to keep the wheels turning and the tails wagging! Your contribution, big or small, will directly fund this mission and help us save these dogs before it’s too late.

🙏 Donate now to be part of this incredible lifesaving journey and help us bring these sweet pups to safety. Together, we can make a difference! 💙

🚐✨ We Need Your Help Naming Our New Rescue Ride! ✨🚐

You may have noticed something new in our latest rescue mission—yup, we’ve got a sprinter van! 🚐 This rescue mission was the inaugural trip in our new wheels, and we couldn’t be more excited. With more space for animals and half the gas cost compared to our beloved PTTR Pawty Van, this new ride is a total game changer for saving more furry friends! 🐾⛽️

But here’s the thing—we need a name for this new beauty! Drop your most creative name suggestions in the comments below—we love hearing your ideas and can’t wait to pick the winner! 💬👇

And don’t forget, the pups we rescued on this special first trip are still available for adoption through our amazing shelter partners at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in New Jersey! Help these sweet dogs find their forever homes! 🏡🐶

Let’s hear those names and get these pups adopted! 🙌💙

🎉 We Did It! Six Rescued Pups Are Now Safe and Ready for Adoption! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce that all of the pups we rescued on Friday are now safe with our amazing shelter partners at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and are ready for their forever homes! 🏡🐶

If you or someone you know is looking to open up their heart and home to a sweet new companion, these pups are waiting to meet you! 💕 Reach out to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter to learn more about the adoption process and give one of these rescue pups a loving home. 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who supported this mission—from our tireless volunteers to our incredible shelter partners and YOU, our pawesome community. 🙌 Because of you, we’re able to celebrate National Dog Day the best way possible—by giving these pups a new beginning. 🛩️🐕💙

🚨 Mission in Progress! 6 Dogs On the Way to Safety! 🐾

Our incredible driver, Albert, is currently on a rescue mission to save 6 precious lives before it’s too late! 🐕🚗 Yesterday, Albert drove all the way to Dunn, NC, so he could wake up bright and early to meet the team from Saint Frances Animal Center and transport these dogs north to the Essex County Airport. Once there, they’ll be welcomed with open arms by the amazing crew at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter! 🛬✨

🦴 The Rescued Pups Include:

• Parker: 13 lbs of cuteness 🐶
• Roman: 14 lbs of joy 🐕
• Lewis: 21 lbs of love 🐾
• Stevie: 21 lbs of sweetness 🐾
• Tinkie: 23 lbs of fun 🐕
• Walter: 29 lbs of snuggles 🐶

These sweet pups are looking for their forever homes, and you can adopt them through Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. If you’re ready to add a new furry family member, now’s your chance! 🏡💕

✨ How You Can Help ✨
This mission is incredibly rewarding but comes with many expenses, from travel costs to ensuring the health and safety of these dogs. We need your support! Your donations, big or small, make a world of difference in saving more lives.

Please consider donating to help fund this rescue mission and future lifesaving journeys. Together, we can make sure every dog finds a loving home! 💙

💔 The Overcrowding Crisis in Shelters: We Need Your Help 💔

Every year, thousands of innocent animals find themselves in overcrowded shelters, facing an uncertain future. Many of these animals are loving, healthy, and simply in need of a second chance. But sadly, overcrowding leads to one heartbreaking reality—unnecessary euthanasia. 😢

At Pilots To The Rescue, our mission is to clear the shelters and save as many lives as we can. We fly these precious souls to safety, giving them a chance at the loving homes they deserve. 🏡✨

We believe that every life is worth saving, and with your help, we can make that belief a reality. Please share our mission, support our cause, and help us spread the word. Every voice matters in the fight to save these precious lives. 🙏

Thank you for standing with us. 💙

✈️ Why We Do What We Do 🐾

At Pilots To The Rescue, we’re passionate about saving lives, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! But let’s be real—it’s not always smooth flying. From last-minute emergency rescue flights to navigating tricky weather conditions, this work can be challenging. 🌧️💨

We face unexpected hurdles, tight timelines, and the emotional weight of knowing how many lives are on the line. But every time we see those wagging tails, happy purrs, and new beginnings, it’s all worth it. 🐕❤️🐈

Why do we do it? Because saving lives is the most rewarding job in the world. Seeing these precious animals find their forever homes makes every tough moment, every late-night flight, and every ounce of effort more than worth it. 🏡✨

We do this because we believe every animal deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. And nothing beats the joy of being part of that journey. Thank you for supporting us in this incredible mission—we couldn’t do it without you! 💙

🚁 Meet Michael: The Man Behind Pilots To The Rescue! 🐾

Say hello to Michael Schneider, our Founder, Executive Director, Chief Pilot, and the one we like to call “Top Dog” around here! 🐶✈️

Michael started Pilots To The Rescue back in 2015, combining his love for aviation and his passion for saving animals. With more than 1,200 hours as a commercial, instrument-rated pilot, he’s been soaring high to rescue animals in need ever since. 🌟

When Michael isn’t flying to save furry friends, he’s at home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with his wife, their four boys under 7 (yes, you read that right! 😅), and their beloved 80 lb. rescue dog.

We’re so proud of everything Michael has accomplished, and we’re grateful to have him leading the way in our mission to save lives!

💫 Adoption Tip from our Newsletter!

🐶 Every pet parent wants their dog to be happy. It’s easy to show love and affection, but that’s not all our furry friends need to stay in a good mood and view their new homes as happy places.

For instance, a happy dog has somewhere they can always go to relax and sleep in peace. This is why you should make sure your dog has a clean, dry, padded bed, or even a snug blanket in a comfy spot of the house. 🧺 😴 Ideally, your dog’s bed or blanket should be located somewhere quiet. Depending on your dog’s personality, they might prefer to relax in a room that’s separate from louder, busier spaces of the house. Some dogs might even prefer a doggy den to feel safe, so you may consider trying one if your dog seems uncomfortable out in the open.

Happy dogs are also never short on things to do. After all, dogs are extremely intelligent animals, so it’s your responsibility to give them plenty of opportunities to exercise their body as well as their mind. Excessive boredom can lead to destructive behavior.

In addition to going on walks and letting your dog play outside, you can enrich your dog’s mind with interactive puzzle-feeders, reward-based training sessions, and of course, a wide range of classic dog toys.

This is an essential life skill, and your dog will be much, much happier once they’ve acquired it. So, you’ll want to teach your dog these skills when they’re young so they can grow into confident dogs who don’t live in fear.

🐕 A happy dog is a confident dog. Does your dog have trouble being alone in the house? Let us know in the comments. 💬

Volunteer Spotlight: Amy Shaw 🔦

Since our shelter partners are located all over the U.S., figuring out the logistics for our rescues can be quite a challenge.

That’s why we want to show some love to PTTR’s transport coordinator Amy Shaw, whose passion for animal rescue can be traced back to her first dog, Bailey. 🛩

Amy rescued Bailey from a shelter in Birmingham, Alabama, and found a loyal companion who kept her spirits high as she changed careers, battled through break-ups, and eventually relocated to a new state.

She now resides in North Carolina, where her family has since had the fortune of adopting several dogs from local shelters.

Before joining PTTR, Amy harnessed her organizational expertise to coordinate events for a major management company. 💻 👏🏼 The proud mom of two daughters, she has played an instrumental role in countless emergency missions, often finding space for homeless pets who are days - or even hours - away from being euthanized. In addition to dogs and cats, Amy and her family have a deep connection to horses, and both of her daughters have made names for themselves as competitive horseback riders.

FL’s Moose & Barney Find New Families in NY 🥳 Pictured first in the arms of his new mommy is Moose, one of the 15 dogs PTTR rescued on July 12.

Starting from our home state of New Jersey, Albert drove down to Florence, South Carolina, to pick up two momma dogs, one daddy dog, one female adult dog, and 11 puppies in this collaborative mission with Pet Orphans Miami and the Everglades Animal Coalition.

From there, Albert drove more than 11 hours back up North to White Plains, New York, where the dogs were received by Toby’s Dream Rescue in Milford, Connecticut and the Canine Project, Inc. in Carthage, New York.

Pictured second is Barney the daddy dog, on the first day of his new life. Thanks to the extraordinary marketing efforts of Toby’s Dream Dog Rescue, Barney was adopted just eight days after he arrived in Connecticut.

These pawesome families would not exist without your love and support so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining our cause, for donating, and for sharing in our passion for animal rescue! 🙏😊

A few weeks ago, our AMAZING driver Albert Picewicz drove PTTR’s Paw-ty Van down to Georgetown, South Carolina, to pick up 13 dogs from the Saint Frances Animal Shelter. With his furry cargo in tow, Albert then drove more than 700 miles back up to Roslyn, New York, where the dogs were received by our shelter partners at Last Chance Animal Rescue in Holbrook, New York, and Freedom First Rescue in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania.

Albert’s paw-ssengers for this mission included a litter of six beautiful black puppies, all of which have been adopted! 🙌🏽 🎉 Two precious paw-ssengers named Hershey and Star were even adopted by the same family.

Shown here are three more of these lucky pups relaxing in the arms of their new families. First up is Blaze who is already bonding with his new brother, followed by Sema & her new momma, and lastly Mika, living her best in life with her new parents!

Thank you for helping us create these happy families :) Have you adopted a dog we rescued? —-DM us!

☀️ Summer is in full swing, and just as our shelter partners hoped, the adoptions are rolling in! Last month, PTTR rescued 15 dogs from multiple overcrowded shelters in South Florida.

😁 We are delighted to report that at least 8 animals we recently rescued are currently settling into their forever homes. That includes two puppy brothers who were lucky enough to be adopted together!

📸 Come back tomorrow to see pix of the dogs with their new forever families!! Some of our favorite content to share is our rescued fur babies happy in their new homes! 🏡💞

Too many animals are at risk of being euthanized simply because shelters are overflowing, and these sweet angels don’t get adopted in time. That is so sad.

That is why our volunteer pilots and drivers go through the effort and expense of flying dogs and cats to other places where they have room and can get adopted! It is all about saving precious lives.

None of our rescues are possible without the help of our friends like you. Precious pups like the one shown here would be in danger still.

That’s why we wanted to ask if you would please give a generous gift so that we can continue our lifesaving rescues.

Remember, many dogs, and cats, don’t have a lot of time before they might be euthanized. That should never happen and we want to save as many little souls as possible. 🙏

01/08/2024

Did you know every hour of flying can cost up to $700! We also have two hangars that cost about $2,000 a month to maintain.

And with so many rescues happening each month, we are busier than ever. But the truth is while we can fly dogs and cats to safety, we depend on kind friends such as you to keep our rescue planes in the air.

Time is short. Flying saves precious travel time which may be enough to reach dogs (and cats) at a shelter before they end up being euthanized.

Remember, time for many dogs and cats is running short. It is imperative that we don’t rest on our laurels. But we do have a budget to worry about.

So please, can these innocent animals who have been abandoned count on your ongoing support? Your gift would continue to help us save lives. Visit our website to set up a recurring monthly donation. 💛 pilotstotherescue.org/support

The lives of many innocent dogs and cats are still in danger. Far too many of them are abandoned whether it’s in shelters or even on the side of the road. It happens because there are cruel people out there who don’t care about animals as you do.

However, many people don’t even know this is a big problem. These abandoned dogs and cats may eventually be euthanized if they don’t get adopted in time! Please share the danger that these sweet puppies and kitties are facing with your friends and family. The more people who know what is going on, the more innocent animals we may be able to save before it’s too late. Thank you for supporting our mission to . 🙏 💛

Meet Moose 🐕 & his new forever family 💛
“ .meagan . . . We were seeking to add to our family. I must have looked at 15,000 rescue dogs as a possibility. We were looking for the right fit and only a few felt right. With those few, the first 2 fell through. One wasn’t the right fit and the other was adopted while we were in the process. Then we came across Sawyer (Now Moose). A 2yr old suspected Aussiedore who was found as a stray, was in a shelter for about a month and then rescued by Long Road Home Rescue, Inc and fostered in North Carolina for about a month, while they seeked a NY foster/adopter. We bit the bullet and without meeting Moose, we committed to adopting him.

Pilots to the Rescue helped get our goofy, extremely active, no manners, but Sweetest and gentlest pup home. Now that we are a month in and learning our manners and how to live in a house…I am happy to say Moose has finally realized that he is home and this isn’t just his next stop. He takes walks every day, has spent a day on our boat charter in Montauk, uses our in-ground pool as a water bowl, but loves to lay in his kiddie pool, greets every house passer by with a bark and doesn’t understand why he has to eat dog food with his medium rare steak and hotdog treats.

He is still adjusting to having goats, chickens and a duck that are not meant to be prey, but as family as well. He doesn’t understand why his senior 20lb sister dog Pooka doesn’t want to play with him, but he continues to ask her. He takes constant pets from the kids and gets hyped up when his dad comes home from work.

Thank you PTTR for Moose. - The Ritner Family

P.S. Last 2 photos were taken before we got him, and the rest are in his new forever home. ” 🏡💞 🙂
