Even the freezing cold couldn’t slow us down! ❄️🐈‍⬛. Huge THANK YOU to the Monroe Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, run by the Humane Society of Union County (North Carolina), for allowing us to bring in 30 TNR cats today for spay/neuter & vaccinations! 🏥 16 of them were female 🎀, and two were expecting! This incredible opportunity wouldn't be possible without their support, making winter prevention a reality. ✨❄️ Shoutout to Spay Neuter NC, Inc. for their unwavering support of our mission! ✨

This week, despite the bone-chilling temperatures and less-than-ideal trapping conditions, we successfully trapped over 30 community cats! 🥶 🪤We're determined to get the job done, even when we're longing for hibernation! 😴☕️

At Carolina Street Cats, we use puppy pads for trapping and post-surgery recovery to keep our community cats clean and sanitized. While we accept any brand, Costco’s puppy pads have become our favorites, offering the perfect combination of absorbency and comfort.

Wednesday, January 15 at Pet Supermarket in Matthews, NC (3036 Weddington Road, 28105)

Sign in begins at 7:30AM and ends at 8:15AM. Same day pick-up will be as the cat recovers. Last pick-ups should be no later than 3:00/3:30PM.

• Pet cat MUST come in a hard-sided carrier only (absolutely no fabric, mesh, back-pack, or cardboard)
• ONE cat per carrier for safety & recovery
• Limit of 2 pet cats per family

Cold Front Alert 🥶❄️ : Keep Outdoor Cats Safe and Warm!

With freezing temperatures arriving in the Carolinas, outdoor cats need extra care. Here are some quick tips to help protect them from the cold:

✅ 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Use plastic bins with fresh straw to keep them warm and dry. (DIY example in the comments 👇🏼)

✅ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡, 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫: Make sure water doesn’t freeze, so they stay hydrated.

Alice is a sweet, independent cat who was found suffering from a serious eye injury. We don’t know how she ended up unspayed and in pain, but we do know she’s been on her own for far too long. Bullied by the caregiver’s territorial cat colony (which we've already TNR'd), Alice needed immediate medical care. She deserves more than a life of stress—she deserves a fresh start.

We understand that inside/outside living can raise concerns, but Alice has lived outdoors for a while, and this setup would give her the freedom she needs to thrive.

What an impactful year it’s been 🎆! Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, 7️⃣8️⃣9️⃣ cats 🐈‍⬛ were altered in 2024 alone, bringing the total to 1️⃣5️⃣6️⃣8️⃣ cats spayed or neutered over the past two years! This is more than just a number—it’s a 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 in improving the lives of cats and people across Union County.
