Raven's Reptile Rescue UK We are a completely non-profit, reptile rescue based in Peterborough UK. Welcome to Raven's Reptile Rescue.

We are a completely non-profit reptile rescue based in the UK. We are hobbyists who specialise in small and medium-sized reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. We are here to help provide a safe home for abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in-need animals. We rehome many of our rescues; however, if for any reason they are not suitable for rehoming, we aim to look after them for the rest of their lives.

We can officially say we are now a registered charity. Thank you to everyone who has made this happen. While this will open more options for us, it does not mean we will get any more financial support. Matt and I (Shelly) both put a lot of our own money to keep everything going and will continue doing so, as even though it means giving up some things, seeing the animals be adopted or get healthier is everything. Thank you to all those who donated and supported us. It means the world to us and the rescue.

Little Zilla here is a Crocodile gecko, also known as a Moorish gecko, the tiniest reptile we have and the most elusive. They arrived in the UK on a crate of fruit and is the fourth gecko to arrive to us this way but only the second to survive the sudden change in environment and stress.

Merlot is a Cornsnake. They arrived on 4th October 2023.

On arrival, Merlot was around 3 to 4 years old. He is male, but a vet has not confirmed this. They came to us when their owner decided to lower their own collection when their children had left the family home, but all the pets remained.

Merlot is a shy cornsnake; he moves his environment around to suit him. Though Merlot is not one to be a lot, he would make a great pet for someone who would work with him.

This week has been tough, January always feels slightly too long. We recently got two leopard geckos of an unknown age as they have had a couple homes. Their last owner had them for nine years. Both are on diets but one has a severe neurological condition and not the best vision.

Meet Pinkie (number 2). Pinkie's previous owners tried everything to help her with shedding issues, but unfortunately, even with their vet's help, Pinkie still had issues and had a build-up of skin in her eyes. We managed to remove the skin on the first night and have been keeping her eyes clean until our vet appointment as we took her in over Christmas. Tonight, she had her visit, and it was pretty much what we had expected. Pinkie's eyes are not doing great, and there is a risk of scaring due to the build-up, but she now has eye drops. She also has an infection in her mouth, which we need to medicate and monitor to ensure it does not get worse and cause a more serious problem. Pinkie has to return to the vet in ten days. Tonight's appointment was over £100, and our vet is paid on the day. If you wish to help with vet appointments, please donate either to our PayPal or send us a message for our bank details.

What a year. This year has been busy, and we have had many rescues and rehomings. This year has seen many critical care cases come in, and unfortunately, not all of them made it, but others have thrived and been adopted. Thank you to each and every person who has supported us. Thank you to anyone who has adopted and made one of our rescues one of your family members.

George is a Crested Gecko and arrived on 26th June 2024.

On arrival, George was around seven years old and came to use when the previous owner could no longer look after them.

George has a fun-loving personality. He loves exploring his viv and is very inquisitive. His nightly antics keep us entertained. Cresties can live between fifteen to twenty years in captivity.
