-URGENT-
We have just had an adult Bearded Dragon dropped off at our door that was found in the PE1 area, around the All Saint's road and Dogsthorpe road corner. If anyone has lost a Beardie around that area please get in contact with us. A kind person had been looking after it for a few days before somehow finding us (we don't put our full address on Google for this very reason)

Please share around.
I'd prefer to think that it's an escapee rather than abandoned.

Also if it's possible we are looking for volunteers to take on animals in the future as we are completely full and getting plenty of messages to take animals in.

Any claimants must produce photographic proof, there is an obvious identifier.

It has been very warm lately so George has a question for everyone.

George arrived on the 26th and is about seven years old, so he's becoming a middle aged lizard. He has been making us laugh with his antics and is already such a character. While he's not available for adoption yet, we do have two cresties that are ready to find their new home.

Meet Odin who arrived in March very shy and shaking their tail anytime they saw anyone. Odin has been settling in, is now a consistent feeder, and has now completely stopped shaking their tail whenever someone comes near.

Meet Sq**rt the Chinese Pond Turtle. So she is in fact Sq**rtle. She arrived yesterday and has been settling in. We have been very busy at the rescue as we have been redoing a lot of the animals vivariums to ensure they don't get bored.

This is Lucozade. He often sleeps this way in what seems to be an impression of Sly Stallone...
So far, we haven't worked out just why exactly he does this, and even our vet is unsure. We're pretty sure that he is blind, or at least partially blind however.
None of this seems to affect his temperament as he's such a friendly noodle and a very good feeder.
For obvious reasons, he's currently staying with us, although should someone out there be willing to accept him and his needs, they would see just how lovely he is.

Reminder to all tortoise owners out there that they can climb and dig. Outdoor environments must be safe, secure, and dig proof, or at the very least should be monitored as these little ones will surprise you. We are already seeing the lost and found tortoise posts.

The last few weeks we had noticed little Lilo slowing down and we knew she didn't have long. Tonight was the night she crossed the rainbow bridge and though we won't see her hoovering up her food we can take solace in that we gave her a great life. Lilo arrived as an unwanted pet with an unknown age and unknown background, other than she'd had multiple homes.

Meet Manni the Mantis. She arrived last week when her owner was mis-led into believing she was a different species.

Sadly on Monday Tango went across the Rainbow bridge. In the afternoon she suddenly couldn't move any of her limbs and you could see she was in pain. The day before she was running around and being her cheeky self. We rushed her to the vets and the results were not good. We were left with two options: emergency surgery with a slim chance of survival or help her cross the rainbow bridge. We chose the second as it was not fair on her, we hated the choices and having to make such a decision. Our vet told us after she passed that Tango would not have survived the surgery. We have spent since then processing as this was all so sudden but reptiles are great at not showing when anything is wrong. We are still quite raw with emotions as this is not the outcome we expect for beautiful Tango. Hug your pets tight

Meet the new horsefield tortoises to arrive at the rescue. Zuma and Sq**rt. They are three years old, like all new arrivals they are in quarantine so we can assess health, behaviour and get to know them.

Clone Army are two Musk Turtles. They are both males and their age is unknown.

We have a small army of Musk turtles, two of which are up for adoption. They love their food and are fun to watch. They are also adorable when they mermaid on land.

George is Hermann's Tortoise and arrived in Jan 2023.

​George was around 7 years old on arrival. He is microchipped and has paperwork, but he was bred in the UK.

George loves his food and digging, too. He loves transporting soil into his water dish. He is an active male and would make a great companion.

​George will need an owner ready to take on his care, as he occasionally requires his beak and nails to be trimmed.

Macaroni is a Royal Python. She arrived in September 2023

Macaroni's age is unknown, and she arrived in a bad state after being found living in a box with no ventilation minus being opened in one corner. She had an unmonitored heat mat and was being sprayed daily, so she was soaking wet.

Macaroni was nervous, very unweight and we were concerned about respiratory infection but thankfully following vet advice and months of rehabilitation Macaroni is now ready to find her forever home. .

Rex is a Royal Python. He arrived in August 2023.

Rex was around 4 months old on arrival. He came because his previous owners struggled to care for him.

Rex is a very chilled and laid-back snake. He does not mind being handled and more than once appeared on camera to say hello to friends.
