I like to keep this page drama free. This page is for people who love animals, enjoy seeing them, or hearing their stories. THAT’S IT, PERIOD. It’s not a page to keep track of what I’m doing on my farm , it’s not a page for arguments, or spreading rumors or hate. It’s not a page for Bigots, or people who judge, discriminate against anyone for their beliefs, or any other reason. We don’t spread hate or tolerate anyone that does. We are called Misfit Farm and there’s a reason for that. I will not ever stop sticking up for those that are discriminated against. I don’t usually have to block people, but I have in the past . If you are on this page for any other reason , then to enjoy these beautiful animals kindly remove yourself.

Wallace and Grommit are the most dramatic sheep in Maine lol. They like cool temps, if it’s over 60 degrees they will lean against me and sigh like the world is coming to an end . We just ordered new livestock fans that mount to the walls, much better then the ones we currently have. I think my boys don’t realize that some sheep actually have to stay outdoors and don’t have a comfy barn with curtains, music and fans 😂 They are so spoiled.

Busy day at Misfit Farm. ❤️

As you know we are moving . Our years here (6) flew by, and I don’t regret this part of Misfit Farms journey. This farm is beautiful, and we’ve added so much in the time we’ve been here. But something was telling me , it’s time to go. Life is short, I’m missing out on my human family because I’m too far away. I’m no longer the same person who came here 6 years ago. I was so anxious to not only run this Sanctuary, but also to open our doors to the public, have a farm stand, have little gift shops, events…. The whole nine yards…. But I soon started to put too much on my plate, and I was becoming more and more overwhelmed. I had less time to just play with the animals, read them stories, take them on hikes. We of course lose animals to age, or sickness , and I didn’t even have time to grieve properly. I was trying to hold back tears while giving tours , answering questions or running an event . These animals are family , and as much as some people will never understand that , it is like losing a family member. Since losing Squishtopher Robin, I’ve been stuck in this not so happy place . He was my best friend , and not having him here sucks . This move is so exactly what my husband, myself and our animals need . Privacy , quiet, surrounded by nature. We can go for walks without seeing anyone , no cars going by …. Just birds singing , and chipmunks all around ( I already made a friend on the new property) . I will have time to read to the animals again . I can see my family and guess what …..Kenny and I are going bowling 🎳 😂 there is a bowling alley right in parsonsfield not far from us . We are all going to retire together, on a beautiful piece of land . Me, Kenny and all the animals. If I had been wealthy, I would have gifted this farm to someone who would start their own farm Sanctuary , but of course we were not in a position to do that . Although we will not be open to the public, we may do our annual Christmas open house at the new place , as that was always something we looked forward to with friends and family . I’m still the same girl that hates drop ins and unexpected company , so I’m probably going to give everyone the wrong address 😂😂😂😂 . We are still Misfit Farm , still operating as a farm Sanctuary, just getting back to what’s important. Of course Squishtopher Robin is with me in Spirit, as are all the animals that have crossed the rainbow bridge, and those beautiful spirits will be coming with us .❤️ I’m excited to continue writing childrens books and will be hopefully getting “ A VERY SMILEY THANKSGIVING “ and “ EVEN SHEEP GO TO HEAVEN “ a guide to helping kids deal with the loss of an animal. Done in the next year or so . I’ll keep the updates coming as we get closer to being full time on the new property. ❤️

I know certain people are following our move to Porter Maine . Well, since it’s 19 acres of land with nothing on it, we are hard at work clearing , roughing in a 225 foot driveway all up to the homesite , which will include an 80’ by 20’ L shaped goat/ sheep barn, a cow and donkey shelter 40by 20 , our cat condo 12’5 “ by 8 with an outdoor enclosure. And finally our litttle house. In the meantime we will be living in the camper . I can’t have the dog with the cats in that small of space . I have 10 cats . 5 will live in the condo , 5 will live in the house. I’m trying to figure out a temporary situation for the 5 house cats, until our house is built . Maybe another shed fixed up like a little house ? I’m not doing outdoor cats anymore, so that’s not an option. And I don’t want a shed payment , we are still paying for my little store. Keep your eyes open for good deals on an 8 by 10 used shed. I’m already looking on market place , and not really liking much . Maybe just a cheap Amazon one since it will be temporary. Moving 60 animals is definitely time consuming. But we will get there.
