Rowan left and mopsey. Moving into new pen. Of there own. Bigger boys are getting a touch rough with pick up leg game. Mopsey resting. With heal his leg. So Rowan another weadling is coming to spend time in rest pen with him.

Well thats vaccinations done for now. Until boasters are needed for ciria or there bravoxin age. Its been non stop husbandry vaccinating worming etc.

Our last ciria of the year Banana-split! Every yeqr they challange you with something new! If you want to bread alpacas i recomend you do all the birthing courses you can do. Your need it. Quit confident for this year but they chucked up there own challanges. Disnt help moving last minute on a pregnaceys. But nothing could be done! But with all the birthing courses suport! We managed to get through! Banana is constipated so i syring 20 mils of mineral water up his bum to soften his stools. He is struggling to bind with mum. But mums bonding with him. We lock them into the shelter over night. To keep him safe or he walks off and leaves her!

We lost a runner duck over night. 😞 but minute mummy duck thought there was danger she pulled our new 3 ducklings in with the others to look after so she is getting there. At adopting 3 ducklings .

Sadly due to blue tounge. Were not going to Chelmsford. Im heart broken and disapointed. But i personally am not risking blue tounge. Wish everyone all the best who go to the show!

When you add two runner duck chicks and two aulsbury duck chicks and mumma duck comes up to the fence to have a go at me because she thinks ive nicked her babys. Lol they are all hers and she don’t care! Where they come from.

Well first time we have used this little gadget.
I think its a refractometer?
Its used to measure the milk sugar.
Im looking and thinking have i got this right?
Is it working.
I cant see nothing expecting a line and Elizabeth pipes up, it goes white and off the scale. Oh yes its all white. Lol then i wipe it clean look again and its back to blue, so milk is over 30 in sugar! Thats good news alpaca milk is very rich to other animals. Couldn’t I find this at start of summer 🤷‍♀️due to farm move!
Now its going in my birthing bag! More practice help!

Wow get into work late due to things needing to be done and traffic diversions to find Duke Banana-split Rayne. He was left on gis own cos he had riggles through fence into a pen with the other firls who was looking after him. Up and walking. Its like whos his mum? Thats a wrap for Attfield Alpacas 2024 breeding season.
