You them cherry pick what works for.you and your dog in each situation. 🤔 Do you have a reactive dog thay wont cope in a group environment? Don't worry, you can choose a spectator space at a reduced rate. Your dog doesn't attend but you still get to watch others and take all of the techniques home with you. 🎆 I put lots of work into desensitising Dobby to fireworks at an early age. 🐶 He was 12 weeks old on NYE and I had already played fireworks sounds through the TV. I also used 'noise box' to help him get used to sudden sounds and taught him the 'find it' command to scatter feed. ⏰️ This meant that when the clock struck midnight and fireworks were going off he coped well. 🐕 Dobby is far from perfect but tonight I'm celebrating the little wins. www.theipswichdogtrainer.com

🐕 PUPPY CLASSES 😊 Confidence week is one of the most important yet fun weeks we have in our puppy class, and as you can see from the video Gus got thoroughly stuck in! 🎉 Everything we do has a reason behind it and the more confident your dog is the better it can deal with all that life throws at it. From proprioception to husbandry to noises, textures and sudden movements. It is all covered. ❤️ You would be surprised at the trivial things that can make a dog nervous but with positive reinforcement and gradual desensitisation their emotional response can be changed. 🐶 Just remember to always follow your dogs lead and to never force them to do something they are uncomfortable with.
