Summer & Kevin showed so well this morning at Westminster. They made the first cut and were looked at pretty hard for 2nd cut but no love.

Even though they didn’t make as far, Summer is still extremely proud of what she has accomplished in her wild ride of a juniors career! So many memories and teaching moments that have made her into the handler she is today.

There is a special picture I have attached that we found this last week before coming here - it is a picture of her at her first juniors event (a fun match in Indiana). In this picture is Trea (GCH Braeton’s Hidden Treasure HIC) her first Juniors dog that started her career and she is holding Kevin, who was a puppy just starting his own show career. As she ends her career In juniors, this picture is special as the dogs were her 2 bookends of her Juniors career ❤️

I just need to say a special thank you to Karen for taking a chance on this stay-at-home mom and her daughter, to get a start in Collies, breeding & the AKC dog world. None of this would have been possible without that! I also know that there have been **SO** many other people who have come along side us in the last 7 years, encouraging us, sharing their dogs and wisdom - I just can’t list them all! But even though I can’t list y’all here, know that none of you have been taken for granted in your part of this journey! 💞

Of course I also need to thank my family for their support. My husband and sons, who have stayed behind countless nights & days, caring for the dogs (& other animals!) at home, cheering us from home! ❤️ Nick Koster is my biggest cheerleader and I am so thankful for his love, support & encouragement for both of us!

Summer looks forward to continuing her future on Dog Shows as a handler and we will see you around!

Butter is a super sweet little girl who desires to do whatever you want of her. She would be great for any situation - companion, agility, obedience, rally, etc. and would also be a great 4H dog!

We had a fun yet busy weekend at Greater Brighton/Toledo specialty this weekend! No big ribbons but 2 puppies learned dog shows are fun, Garrett & Jewel got their first Reserve Best Junior together while Summer & Brady worked to become a team 🤗

With only Cher Bear left to play with, I have more of a beautiful understanding as to why the puppies from this breeding were so desired by those who have an older sibling. The sweetness, playfulness and patience this puppy has is incredible. She’s a gem, as are her siblings, and I am happy to be a part of this group of collies! She’s going to make someone a very happy collie owner!

The girls got to come inside to play and work on obedience this week in these frigid temps. Learning commands “sit”, “down”, & “wait” commands. They are not allowed to steal another’s treat out of my hand. This teaches them to have manners and not be grabbing the treat that may not be for them.

When introducing a new dog to an established pack, I like to do things slowly, letting everyone meet and get used to each other one at a time, so no one gets overwhelmed. The past couple of days, Brady has hung out with Jewel, meeting her and getting used to his new surroundings. Yesterday we introduced him to our youngest member, Butter. I caught this video before breakfast this morning! Just love the classic Collie gentleness that Brady is exhibiting towards Butter! ❤️
