River City Kitty TNR Dedicated to humanely reducing the # of stray cats living around businesses in VB via spay/neuter. River City Kitty TNR is a local group in Vicksburg, MS.

Our goal is to trap, neuter and return feral cats in our area. We hope to lessen the amount of unwanted kittens being born in Vicksburg. We are always in need of volunteers to trap and feed local cats. We are also in need of fosters for friendly/ non-feral cats and kittens in our area. We are hoping to take some of the load off our local shelters that are overwhelmed with cats and kittens througho

ut the year but mostly in kitten season. Can you help? If you are interested in being a River City Kitty TNR advocate please send us an email at [email protected] for more information. If you would like to donate please email us at [email protected] so we can assist with setting up your donations. Thank you for caring about Vicksburg's cats and kittens! Be the change that you want to see in the world.

We did it!! We caught Hello Kitty's daughter/sister? This is Hello Baby. She's a spicy girl who like Hello Kitty was very pregnant. Now she can enjoy her life, free from the stress of being endlessly pursued by toms and the endless cycle of pregnancies.

All of this is only possible because of our generous donors. If you'd like to help us humanely reduce the number of stray and feral cats living around our area businesses please consider making a donation. Kitten season is ramping up so any donations would be greatly appreciated. If you'd like to make a tax deductible donation make the check out to the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce's Community Fund. Just make sure to put River City Kitty TNR in the memo line. If you don't need the deduction just make the check out to River City Kitty TNR. All donations can be mailed to:

We also accept donations of cat food which will be used to feed the cats we've come to love. Just message Karen Whiteman Kirk if you'd like to donate food or volunteer to help trap or feed.

Sweet Hello Kitty showed up very pregnant at one of our sites. Things tend to be relatively quiet this time of year but Hello is a stark reminder that kitten season never really ends and will soon be cranking up to full speed 😵‍💫. Thankfully Hello won't have to suffer endless cycles of pregnancy.

All of this is only possible because of our generous donors. Not only do we work towards reducing the number of stray and feral cats around local businesses but we provide supplemental food and if able vet care. These additional costs are currently being paid for out of some of our members personal funds. This is becoming increasingly difficult due to rising costs. We've decided to set up a separate fund called River City TNR 2 to handle any donations that you might feel led to make for food and vet care. Just make any checks out for this purpose to River City Kitty TNR 2. If you'd like your donation to be tax deductible please make your check out to the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce Community Fund and put River City Kitty TNR 2 in the memo line.

Checks can be mailed to

If you'd rather donate food message Karen Whiteman Kirk and she'll be more than happy to pick it up.

Our next target is Hello Kitty's daughter, Hello Baby 🙏🙏

Trap training 101

❓Have a kitty who is not entering your trap❓
TRAP TRAINING may be the answer for you!

• Securely zip tie the trap door open so the trap cannot close.

• Start with the food right in front of the trap. This is a good time to implement a feeding schedule if you haven’t already done so.

• Move the food bowl back a little each day until it’s in the back of the trap.

• When the cat is freely going in and out of the trap for food, cut the ties and set the trap as normal.

👉🏼 The only available food should be in the trap.
