Iam very excited about this new team and the adventure they have set out on! Surge(formerly Splurge) left for beautiful Colorado in June of last year and I just had a gut feeling that these two were meant for each other and after some bonding they have begun to showcase their talents with much success! This run was their first weekend trialing in agility and finished their JS-N and GS-N!

There is nothing sweeter than watching our bred bys succeed with their owners and January was a very successful month for them! Here's a quick catch up from the last few trials.

SunSeekers And Then There Were Three JS-N GS-N "Tres"
Finished her novice rally title(RN) with a 198! Not stopping there she earned a regular, Jumpers and gam.blers Q! Big congratulations to her owner Becky for these accomplishments!

SunSeekers Gonna Steal Your Heart NA NAJ RS-N JS-N "Bandit"
Played in two different venues over the weekend and snagged a gam.blers Q, regular Q and finished his ASCA Novice Jumpers title!! Sweeping the first place podium with all 3 runs. The following day he ran in USDAA and Q3rd in started snooker and Q1st in started Jumpers! Huge congratulations to his owner Kathryn!

ASCA Major pointed SunSeekers Resistance Is Futile RN RAX "Surge"
Made his debut in a grand style and finished both his ASCA Jumpers and Gam.blers title! Surge has been putting the hard work in with his co-owner and it's clearly paying off. Very excited to see his future! Surge is co owned with Jacquie Hallenbeck

SunSeekers Can You Hear Me Now LC-N LD-N LF-N "Echo"
Had her first introduction to the altered conformation ring and didn't walk away empty handed. Going Winners b***h under judge Debra Mitchell! Just a few weeks earlier this dog had no idea what conformation was but she was an absolute superstar and owned the ring! Thank you Laura for letting me borrow your girl for a day!

ASCA Major pointed SunSeekers From The Ashes RNX GS-N JS-O RS-N "Ignite"
Unfortunately missed a lot of his agility runs as I was occupied in conformation but he easily finished his Open gam.blers title with an extra gam.ble Q to spare! So excited to run him at the Elite!

I frequently get asked by the public why I crate, both when away and while at home. I ask them if they had any kids, the majority said yes, so I asked them what they used to contain their baby/toddler when they couldn't supervise them. Without hesitation they said anything from a bouncer, swing, crib, play pen, etc. Thats when it hit them and I just smiled. Safety is Safety.

We have some New Year brags!

Last weekend our dogs netted their first titles and qualifying runs of the year!

SunSeeker Gonna Steal Your Heart NA NAJ "Bandit" finished his ASCA RS-N title with a Q2, and his JS-N title! This exceptional boy isn't even two yet and is showing incredible promise! I'm so lucky that he lives local and I'll get to watch him grow. Bandit is loved by Kathryn Cockerham

Though not quite the new year, it's still close enough....
SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI RA RE BN CD ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ ACTJ2 CGCA ASCA RNX "Prim" Had a qualifying run in a completely new organization: CPE. A great start to the new year! Prim is quite the hotrod and her owner Amanda Guthrie has done a fabulous job at making her shine when Prim just wants to go fast. 🤪

ASCA Major pointed SunSeekers From The Ashes RNX GS-N JS-N RS-N "Ignite" is taking the forefront of my program and he did not disappoint. Entered only for 1 day he qualified 4 out of a possible 5 times, is handler(me) messed him up on one round. Oops. He swept the podium however with 4 firsts and a new Open Jumpers(JS-O) title! He marks my first bred by to be an Elite dog! Ignite is owned by myself.

ASCA Major pointed Trilogys Electrifying at SunSeeker JS-N "Electra" was exremely naughty last weekend but still managed to get 2 regular Qs and 2 jumper Qs, with two firsts and a second respectively. The two jumper Qs gave her a new Open Jumpers title! Electra is owned by myself.

Hang on tight, the SunSeeker group is just warming up and we are bringing the heat to 2025! 🔥😎

Plans are set in place, and hopefully in a few months we will be taking a northern road trip!🤞I'm excited to take you all along on this journey, and to educate on the costs related to a wellbred, purebred litter. It's not all pennies, sunshine and rainbows! In addition, this will not cover the costs to raise the dam, genetic testing, OFA radiographs, echos, eye testing, and all of the show costs to prove she is worthy of producing. Ethical breeders don't make a single cent 99% of the time.

My first litter, which produced the handsome puppy below, cost me just over 8k, and it was worth every penny.

Prim, SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI RE BN CD ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ ACTJ2 CGCA ASCA RNX, is from our first litter back in 2022 and I feel like we knocked it out of the park! She is lighting the agility course on fire and dominating in the rally/obedience ring much like the rest of her littermates. Thats consistency at its finest!

Yesterday I had someone preach "Adopt don't Shop" on my page and I immediately thought "what an interesting thing to say." 🤔
So your telling me that you'd be willing to go to a shelter and take home the dog that has been there the longest? Or the one with a bite history? One that doesn't get along with children or small animals? One that has lifelong medicals needs?
Funny enough adopting from a shelter IS shopping. You're viewing the eligible dogs and determining which is most suited for your lifestyle. Most require an "adoption fee" to help with the costs that the dog marked up during their stay at the shelter but here's the real kicker. All of those dogs were produced by irresponsible, and disreputable breeders who either wanted a puppy from dear Fluffy, thought they could make money, and/or didnt care and let their intact dog run amuck. Yes you heard me right, if you produce a litter, whether directly or by "accident", you are a breeder. Though for these shady, immoral people I prefer to refer to them as "greeders" due to the fact they don't deserve to be associated with those who spend months...years...decades learning about our beloved breed and attempting to master the craft.

ETHICAL breeders don't stop at just breeding purebreds, we breed to IMPROVE the longevity, health, temperament, structure, drive, coat type, movement, eye sight, and mental and physical stability. Each possible prospect under gos multiple health, genetic and disease tests to determine if they are even suitable. We spend hundreds testing for hip and elbow dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and/or PennHip. We assess their temperament, ability to cope, improvements on their structure, their eyes are checked yearly for any abnormalities, we review their pedigree like a paleontologist discovering a new fossil, and then they must prove they are worth breeding. We become a team, competing along side one another for titles at local, National and International levels. Ethical breeders devote every fibre of their being to improve the breed and this doesnt stop with one litter. As long as we are planning a litter we are planning to IMPROVE the breed and to produce a dog that will have a long, fulfilling life alongside their owners, one that is full of joy, adventures and making their owners happy every second of every day.

That 8 week old puppy you see before you? That is a product of a dream that developed long ago. A dream that we spent hours, days, months, years, possibly decades researching, testing, showing and devoting our life too. We love our puppies from the second we see their little blobs dancing across the ultrasound screen. When the time comes we wait along side their dams during the whelping process. We do not sleep for the next 8 possibly 12 weeks, every second is dedicated to the puppies WE decided to bring into this world. They are raised in a home full of love, adoration and the opportunities to learn and grow in a safe, healthy environment. We vet all potential homes, checking refrences, phone calls and sometimes at home checks.
We become attached to the point our hearts break when we say "see you later" as you head off on adventures with your new family. We provided you with generations of health, testing and sound bodies and minds behind you. A promising start in lifelong skills, training and experiences... and a lifetime of adventures ahead of you.

We adore our dogs and our puppies, they will always have a life long home with their breeder if their new owner can no longer care for them. You will never see a wellbred purebred in the shelter. The second you get a puppy from an ethical breeder you have entered a lifelong relationship that is stronger than family itself. Ethical breeders will do anything for their dogs and puppies. So the next time you hear "Adopt don't Shop" remember ETHICAL breeders aren't like anything you've ever seen before.

Ferrero resides here at SunSeeker and has taken the token name of "Uncle Ferrero" as he's as easy going and joyful as they come, which makes him perfect for many of our training dogs that come to visit but need a confidence boost!

Time moves unbelievably fast, nearly two year have passed since the sound of puppy paws graced our halls and when opportunity knocks you answer the door!

✨️We are tentatively planning a 2025 litter!✨️
SunSeeker Australian Shepherds strives to produce drivey, biddable, intelligent dogs that are wrapped up in a structurally and mentally sound package. This litter will be no different with both sire and dam being not only pretty, balanced, and structurally correct but also incredible working and performance dogs. Including National placements, agility titles with multiple first placements on an international level, AKC group placements, CH, RM5 SCA SIN SBN NAP NJP BCAT TKP
ASCA-RA JSA-N GSA-N
CPE-CSL1-R
and a RACH(AKC Rally Champion)...just to name a few accolades. ;)

Some year end brags for the SunSeeker family! These young dogs started hitting the ring earlier this year and it's been an absolute joy watching these talented individuals grow into the athletes they have become.

Bandit, SunSeekers Gonna Steal Your Heart, Picked up an ASCA standard Q with a first place! He then went on to finish his AKC Novice agility titles with multiple firsts, seconds and thirds. He officially an AKC Open agility dog! Owned and loved by Kathryn Cockerham, who adored him from day one.

Molly, SunSeekers Hot Tamale, has grown in leaps and bounds this year and for a young dog she is showcasing some really great moments! Most recently she finished both ACT2 titles! Molly is owned and adored by Sandy Diener who has put a lot of work into this sassy redhead!

Hershey, SunSeekers S'more Sweet Kisses, earned his Dog Scout Title & several badges which included agility obstacles 1,2,3! Hershey has been learning the ropes of the ASCA agility course and is having a fabulous time with his owners, Kathy Tucker and Becky Roberts! He's not short of enthusiasm!

Prim, SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI RE BN CD ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ ACTJ2 CGCA ASCA RNX, has focused primarily on competing in rally while tuning her agility skills but she has made a few appearances and has been competing in the AKC Agility League. This unbelievable girl is clocking sub 18 runs, traveling an average of 6.814 yards per second! She finished the year as #1 in the Freshman division! Owned and adored by Amanda Guthrie who took no prisoners this year! 🤣

Tres, SunSeekers And Then There Were Three, has grown exponentially this year. I've watched her progress first hand and this talented individual is going to knock some socks off in the coming months! Looking back and I don't know how I missed this but Tres did earn 3 Qs in late summer at a local UKI International Agility trial! This is only the beginning of something great! Tres is owned and loved by Becky Yocum who has put the work in to get this firecracker were she is today. Tres only wants to go fast and need information fast!

Escape, ASCA major pointed SunSeekers Bad Habits RNX GS-N RS-N JS-N BID, earned her UKI International Agility novice title in just a single weekend with 28 points, 3 firsts and 2 seconds places! In the fall, Escape finished her ASCA Regular, Jumpers, and Gamblers title with 6 firsts and 1 second place! She has come so far since being attacked by a dog when she was just 5 months old. Escape is adored by me and we have some big hopes and plans for this talented girl!

Ignite, ASCA major pointed SunSeekers From The Ashes RNX GS-N JS-N RS-N, finished his ASCA Regular novice title at the last trial were he also went BOS in conformation for a 5pt major! He needs just 5pt to finish his CH. Hopefully the new year will shine on him. 🤞

Whether it's in the ring or warming couchs, Iam so proud of our SunSeeker dogs and their families. Thank you for being apart of our pack, and for loving your "puppy" like I did. 💙

Our end of the year posts are ready to make their appearance! Starting with our own Electra, ASCA major pointed Trilogys Electrifying at SunSeeker JS-N, who picked up her second major going WB for 4 points under judge Sami Rhyner Hirko this past Saturday!

Our best kept secret....Zest, Trilogys I Hope You Dance, was pulled for WB consideration under senior breeder judge Clarissa Shanks from the 6-9 class! Not bad for her first time in the ring!

We spent 8 hours on the road and nearly 24 hours awake for a one day show but it was successful and we had a great time catching up with friends!!
