Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Tomorrow is the beginning of a new 365 page chapter full of untapped potential. So take that leap and live those dreams!

Versatile, structurally correct dogs with a sound mind and body is what we aim to produce here at SunSeeker Australian Shepherds.

Prim, SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI RE BN CD ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ ACTJ2 CGCA ASCA RNX, is from our first litter back in 2022 and I feel like we knocked it out of the park! She is lighting the agility course on fire and dominating in the rally/obedience ring much like the rest of her littermates. Thats consistency at its finest!

Don't forget to like our page to see more updates! Our family has BIG plans for 2025!

Yesterday I had someone preach "Adopt don't Shop" on my page and I immediately thought "what an interesting thing to say." 🤔
So your telling me that you'd be willing to go to a shelter and take home the dog that has been there the longest? Or the one with a bite history? One that doesn't get along with children or small animals? One that has lifelong medicals needs?
Funny enough adopting from a shelter IS shopping. You're viewing the eligible dogs and determining which is most suited for your lifestyle. Most require an "adoption fee" to help with the costs that the dog marked up during their stay at the shelter but here's the real kicker. All of those dogs were produced by irresponsible, and disreputable breeders who either wanted a puppy from dear Fluffy, thought they could make money, and/or didnt care and let their intact dog run amuck. Yes you heard me right, if you produce a litter, whether directly or by "accident", you are a breeder. Though for these shady, immoral people I prefer to refer to them as "greeders" due to the fact they don't deserve to be associated with those who spend months...years...decades learning about our beloved breed and attempting to master the craft.

ETHICAL breeders don't stop at just breeding purebreds, we breed to IMPROVE the longevity, health, temperament, structure, drive, coat type, movement, eye sight, and mental and physical stability. Each possible prospect under gos multiple health, genetic and disease tests to determine if they are even suitable. We spend hundreds testing for hip and elbow dysplasia through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and/or PennHip. We assess their temperament, ability to cope, improvements on their structure, their eyes are checked yearly for any abnormalities, we review their pedigree like a paleontologist discovering a new fossil, and then they must prove they are worth breeding. We become a team, competing along side one another for titles at local, National and International levels. Ethical breeders devote every fibre of their being to improve the breed and this doesnt stop with one litter. As long as we are planning a litter we are planning to IMPROVE the breed and to produce a dog that will have a long, fulfilling life alongside their owners, one that is full of joy, adventures and making their owners happy every second of every day.

That 8 week old puppy you see before you? That is a product of a dream that developed long ago. A dream that we spent hours, days, months, years, possibly decades researching, testing, showing and devoting our life too. We love our puppies from the second we see their little blobs dancing across the ultrasound screen. When the time comes we wait along side their dams during the whelping process. We do not sleep for the next 8 possibly 12 weeks, every second is dedicated to the puppies WE decided to bring into this world. They are raised in a home full of love, adoration and the opportunities to learn and grow in a safe, healthy environment. We vet all potential homes, checking refrences, phone calls and sometimes at home checks.
We become attached to the point our hearts break when we say "see you later" as you head off on adventures with your new family. We provided you with generations of health, testing and sound bodies and minds behind you. A promising start in lifelong skills, training and experiences... and a lifetime of adventures ahead of you.

We adore our dogs and our puppies, they will always have a life long home with their breeder if their new owner can no longer care for them. You will never see a wellbred purebred in the shelter. The second you get a puppy from an ethical breeder you have entered a lifelong relationship that is stronger than family itself. Ethical breeders will do anything for their dogs and puppies. So the next time you hear "Adopt don't Shop" remember ETHICAL breeders aren't like anything you've ever seen before.

Sincerely, a breeder that would do anything for their dogs and puppies.

Below is SunSeekers I'll Show You That Iam RNX RAX "Ferrero" who was born weighing just 6 oz, one third the size of his littermates. He slept in the crook of my arm for the first 4 weeks of life and though he was strong and healthy he never left. Today he is a beloved member of the family here at SunSeeker. 💙

SunSeekers I'll Show You That Iam RNX RAX "Ferrero" enjoys picking out the perfect tree to celebrate the season!

Ferrero resides here at SunSeeker and has taken the token name of "Uncle Ferrero" as he's as easy going and joyful as they come, which makes him perfect for many of our training dogs that come to visit but need a confidence boost!

Some year end brags for the SunSeeker family! These young dogs started hitting the ring earlier this year and it's been an absolute joy watching these talented individuals grow into the athletes they have become.

Bandit, SunSeekers Gonna Steal Your Heart, Picked up an ASCA standard Q with a first place! He then went on to finish his AKC Novice agility titles with multiple firsts, seconds and thirds. He officially an AKC Open agility dog! Owned and loved by Kathryn Cockerham, who adored him from day one.

Molly, SunSeekers Hot Tamale, has grown in leaps and bounds this year and for a young dog she is showcasing some really great moments! Most recently she finished both ACT2 titles! Molly is owned and adored by Sandy Diener who has put a lot of work into this sassy redhead!

Hershey, SunSeekers S'more Sweet Kisses, earned his Dog Scout Title & several badges which included agility obstacles 1,2,3! Hershey has been learning the ropes of the ASCA agility course and is having a fabulous time with his owners, Kathy Tucker and Becky Roberts! He's not short of enthusiasm!

Prim, SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI RE BN CD ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ ACTJ2 CGCA ASCA RNX, has focused primarily on competing in rally while tuning her agility skills but she has made a few appearances and has been competing in the AKC Agility League. This unbelievable girl is clocking sub 18 runs, traveling an average of 6.814 yards per second! She finished the year as #1 in the Freshman division! Owned and adored by Amanda Guthrie who took no prisoners this year! 🤣

Tres, SunSeekers And Then There Were Three, has grown exponentially this year. I've watched her progress first hand and this talented individual is going to knock some socks off in the coming months! Looking back and I don't know how I missed this but Tres did earn 3 Qs in late summer at a local UKI International Agility trial! This is only the beginning of something great! Tres is owned and loved by Becky Yocum who has put the work in to get this firecracker were she is today. Tres only wants to go fast and need information fast!

Escape, ASCA major pointed SunSeekers Bad Habits RNX GS-N RS-N JS-N BID, earned her UKI International Agility novice title in just a single weekend with 28 points, 3 firsts and 2 seconds places! In the fall, Escape finished her ASCA Regular, Jumpers, and Gamblers title with 6 firsts and 1 second place! She has come so far since being attacked by a dog when she was just 5 months old. Escape is adored by me and we have some big hopes and plans for this talented girl!

Ignite, ASCA major pointed SunSeekers From The Ashes RNX GS-N JS-N RS-N, finished his ASCA Regular novice title at the last trial were he also went BOS in conformation for a 5pt major! He needs just 5pt to finish his CH. Hopefully the new year will shine on him. 🤞

Whether it's in the ring or warming couchs, Iam so proud of our SunSeeker dogs and their families. Thank you for being apart of our pack, and for loving your "puppy" like I did. 💙

Our end of the year posts are ready to make their appearance! Starting with our own Electra, ASCA major pointed Trilogys Electrifying at SunSeeker JS-N, who picked up her second major going WB for 4 points under judge Sami Rhyner Hirko this past Saturday!

Our best kept secret....Zest, Trilogys I Hope You Dance, was pulled for WB consideration under senior breeder judge Clarissa Shanks from the 6-9 class! Not bad for her first time in the ring!

We spent 8 hours on the road and nearly 24 hours awake for a one day show but it was successful and we had a great time catching up with friends!!

What an outstanding month this girl has had!! In just 30 days Prim has added THREE new titles to her name! AKC Rally Advanced AND Excellent, and just finished her AKC CD with a 195 & first place!
Couldn't be more proud of the "little puppy that could" and her incredible owner Amanda Guthrie! You both have far surpassed my wildest expectations, especially with such a young and high energy dog! Thank you Amanda for taking this girl to the moon and loving her as much as I do. 💙

In addition to conformation and performance shows/trials a number of our dogs compete in off the grid activities such as canicross!

SunSeekers You Wish "Envy" (previously Valrhona)competed in her first canicross trail race this past weekend and was a complete superstar! Envy is also training for agility and other sports with her awesome handler, and great friend, Laura Boulton.

Canicross is an exhilarating sport and fun for both human and dog. For more information check out caninecrossusa.org:

"Canicross is a mashup of the words “canine” and “cross country” and is a team sport consisting of a person and dog who run together. Typically the person wears a waist belt, the dog a specifically designed harness, and the two are joined by an elastic line that reduces shock to both the person and dog when the dog pulls. More traditional collar and leashes are also appropriate for those who are just starting out. This is an activity that can be enjoyed by all levels and abilities. For those who take the sport more seriously, a true canicross setup will increase a runner’s speed due to the pulling action of their dog.

Canicross originated in Europe as one way for sled dogs to train in the off-season and has evolved into a stand-alone sport. Competitions started around the early 2000’s and have attracted competitors and hobbyists of all levels. Canicross clubs, organizations, and federations have helped to develop the sport, some with the goal of reaching the Olympic level. Canicross is already sanctioned by organizations that are officially recognized by some National Olympic Committees." -Canine Cross USA

Though we didn't attend ASCA Nationals this year the SunSeeker dogs were still hitting the rings these past few months and have a number of brags to share!

SunSeekers No Money In the Morning RN RI BN ACT1 ACT2 ACTJ CGCA "Prim"
Earned her AKC rally Advanced title and another leg towards her CD with a first and second to boot! Prim is owned and loved by Amanda Guthrie, who has done a fabulous job at training this jet fueled hotrod.
(BIS RBIS MBISS GCHS HOF Ashton x CH RTCH ATCH Ariat)

SunSeekers And Then There Were Three "Tres"
Has been hitting the agility trials and has multiple qualifying runs that I need to go refresh my memory on. 😅 Tres is a very quick minded and quick footed dog, not easy for most handlers but her owner Becky Yocom has done a wonderful job with her!!
BIS RBIS MBISS GCHS HOF Ashton x CH RTCH ATCH Ariat)

ASCA Major Ptd SunSeekers From The Ashes RNX "Ignite"
Made his ASCA agility debut last month and qualified 7 out of 10 times with multiple firsts and seconds as well as finishing his Gambler novice and Jumper Novice titles! He also had an 18 second flat jumper run.
Ignite is owned and adored by myself and co owned with Hannah Mcguire of Trinity Australian Shepherds
(BIS RBIS MBISS GCHS HOF Ashton x CH RTCH ATCH Ariat)

ASCA Major Ptd SunSeekers Bad Habits RNX "Escape"
Had a major break through since being attacked by a dog when she was just 5 months old. Her first ASCA agility trial back and she qualified 4 times, all with firsts but most importantly she was focused, trusted me and proved she's everything I knew she could be.
Two weeks later we made a last minute entry in a USDAA agility trial were she qualified 3 times with 2 firsts and a third! Escape is owned and adored by me. 🥰
(BIS RBIS MBISS GCHS HOF Ashton x CH RTCH ATCH Ariat)

SunSeekers Gonna Steal Your Heart "Bandit"
Has made quite the impression already and has qualified in three different registries: AKC, ASCA and USDAA! With multiple placements, a beautiful jumping style and clearly having a great time! Very impressive for a young dog! Bandit is owned and loved by Kathryn Cockerham

SunSeekers Hot Tamale "Molly"
My favorite from the 2023 litter, it's been a absolute joy watching her grow up and now trial! Molly has been strutting her stuff and has qualified in both ASCA and UKI with awesome placements and wins!! Molly is owned and loved by Sandy Diener

ASCA Mjr Pointed SunSeekers Resistance Is Futile RN RAX "Surge(formerly Splurge)"
Had his first ever agility run at ASCA Nationals and qualified with a first place! His owner has been extremely busy running 4 other dogs so we are awaiting more updates but last I heard he had a Jumpers run where he was flying at 6.24 yards per second! Surge is owned by Jacquie Hallenbeck and myself

We had the pleasure of getting to see SunSeekers S'more Kisses "Hershey" owned by Kathy Tucker attend his first ever agility trail over the summer and are looking absolutely fantastic! Hershey is a lot of dog and Kathy has done a wonderful job working with him, to the point he looks like a different dog in the ring! Way to go!

While Qs, wins, rosettes and ribbons are wonderful the most rewarding thing is seeing these amazing dogs having fun and living up to their potential thanks to their incredible owners. Iam so lucky to have such wonderful puppy owners in the SunSeeker family! 🥰
