I stood there watching her and It must me right in my chest . our vet heroes were working on the other siblings one by one coming out of the blood covered kennel. I looked at her and the anger swelled over. Her sad defeated eyes said it all. She didn’t understand why.. me either love. They are fighting a fight that is horrific . Parvo is painful, brutal and it’s completely preventable. The breeders reached out to us when they received the vet estimate to treat their litter with Parvo during critical stages . They were passing away one by one. This is the side we have to show even if it’s hard to watch. 4 lives are on the line and we are showing up to fight. They didn’t ask to be bred. They didn’t ask to get Parvo. They are the only ones not guilty. A vaccine properly done would have prevented this. I’m so tired of cleaning up others messes but when I stand back and I watch her and her siblings heart breaking bodies fight I am reminded of why we exist . No this isn’t convenient and we absolutely don’t have the major medical fund ready to absorb this but they matter. If we clear out our whole bank account trying to save their lives it was worth it. I will scream over and over to beg for help to save them. We are at 8,990 just in deposits for trying to stabilize them. I need to raise funds to try and give them this chance. It doesn’t matter how many words I try..none feel right or enough. The truth feels too heavy to speak and I wish I had the strength to say it all today eloquently .. but you lived a terrible life. There isn’t an easy version of your story. If love and money were enough -you would be beside me for the rest of your life bru. We promised to fight beside you thru it all.. and we did. To the very end. The vet team poured their heart into your recovery but the damage was done. You sat for too many days with the burns before help came.. no money and no amount of tears could bring you back despite the effort . I laid with you the last day and promised you if you were getting worse and the pain couldn’t be controlled we would Let you go. You had enough suffering your whole life and we wouldn’t cause more. When every option was exhausted and you started shaking in pain with no other pain control options..I stayed by your side. I held the one little side of your paw that wasn’t burned as you let go. I know you ran pain free to your babies you lost in the fire. The babies that you burned every part of your body searching for in the flames. I didn’t get to see the kind of mom you were or the kind of dog you were before the fire but I did see your heart and kindness in our time together. I have no doubt you were the best. I’m so sorry bru that we couldn’t change your outcome .. I have to take peace knowing you are free now and you finally found love in this family.. even when it will never feel like enough to me. I have seen more heartbreak in rescue than I can put into words but you were different for me. There’s so much more I will share one day about you .. but for today know you are so loved bru. I have waited for him to have any emotion . For over a week he has been like sitting with only his shell. No emotion.. then today he gave me this moment. I found outside makes him seem brighter.. so I walked him over to a quiet grassy place and we just sat. A few minutes after sitting he looked confused that I still didn’t leave. Craven walked over to me and clearly sought interaction and affection. He doesn’t understand it yet but it was the first time he showed joy to see a human with us. Tears filled my eyes so quickly because the honor of his love and trust after the world has failed him so grossly is everything our rescue stands for. Cravens body is healing. His heart is healing. This is rescue.. in its purest form. We are never going to give up cravy .. you are not forgotten. You are family. ❤️🐾 our guy is still admitted and will be for a long time to work on his physical needs (see past posts on him for details). If you can contribute please do.
