!! New Client Spotlight !!

Meet Milo!

This smart, goofy guy is a 1 year old Belgian Malinois mix who loves to train.

Milo’s owners reached out when he first started exhibiting some reactivity towards people. Ultimately, they want him to be neutral in environments with new people. Along with addressing some slight reactivity, they want him to have basic manners.

His training program will include nice loose leash walking, sitting and downing when told, the place command, threshold work at all doors, and a reliable recall backed by the e-collar. Throughout his training, Milo will learn there's a place and time to be crazy, but when we are inside we need to be calm (not bouncing off walls). 😂

I am excited to see what Milo is capable of!

I love meeting up with past clients and hearing about all the success they’re having!

Prior to training Milo was reactive towards both people and dogs. When uncomfortable, he often used his mouth to control the situation.

Since completing our private lesson training package, Milo’s owners are happy to report he has some new friends (both people and dogs), he is reliable both on and off leash, and he is able to travel the country with them!

Meet Henry!

This handsome guy is a 3 year old Cavapoo who although small, has quite a bit to say! He feels obligated to bark when cars drive by, people come to the house, and even on walks when he sees other people or dogs. Henry’s owners want to help him feel more relaxed while also enjoy their dog without him barking.

Henry’s training program will include learning how to walk nicely on a leash, sitting and downing when told, door boundaries, and the place command. Ultimately, we are working to build trust and confidence that mom and dad have the situation under control. I am excited to help Henry’s owners establish clear communication and leadership.

Field Trip Time!

Part of Jasper’s training program included getting him out in the real world.

For Jasper, who is working towards becoming a service dog, training field trips are important to generalize expectations across multiple environments. Jasper’s field trips included:
• Home Depot
• Costco
• Target
• School
• A basketball game
• An office building

Meet Jasper!

Jasper is an extremely sweet, affectionate, 8 month old Golden Retriever who gets easily scared by sudden noises or moving objects. In these situations, there is no treat or toy that can ease his mind. He becomes a flight risk as his first instinct is to take off running.

Jasper's training program will include structure and obedience, while establishing clear communication to give him confidence in unfamiliar situations. He will learn that we as his handler have the situation under control and there is no need to run.

I can't wait to show Jasper that the world is not a scary place!

Meet Rio!

Rio is a young, energetic 8 month old German Shepherd puppy. After running out the front door and chasing a car down the road, her owners are worried she will run away and potentially get hurt. In addition, they would love to have Rio stay in a calm state of mind while they have their grandkids over.

Rio’s training program will include learning how to walk nicely on a leash, door boundaries, a reliable recall, and the place command.

I can’t wait to help Rio reach her potential!

This handsome guy is Milo! Milo is a 1.5 year old terrier mix who was recently adopted and is dealing with reactivity towards both people and dogs.

I am excited to help Milo’s owners establish leadership, structure, and a strong foundation of obedience while also addressing his nuisance behavioral issues.

It doesn’t matter whether you have a 20lb Dachshund, a 110lb Cane Corso, or anything in between, all dogs can benefit from training. By training your 4 legged friend you can expect the ability to clearly communicate with them. Ultimately, a well balanced training program will benefit all parties.

“Place” is defined as any elevated object that has a clear boundary. For example, a place can be a dog bed, park bench, or chair.

Place isn’t just an obedience command, but can be used to address behavioral issues. If you have a highly energetic dog, “place” can be used to teach your dog an off switch. “Place” can also teach anxious, insecure dogs how to be independent.

A HUGE thanks to for designing this work of art for us!

Our logo was inspired by my first dog Maverick! Maverick was a black labrador retriever. He was the goofiest, most sensitive boy who would do anything for food.

Food can be used as a motivator when training dogs. However, we often find that in highly distracting environments food may not hold enough value. That’s why we use a variety of training tools when working with our clients.

Meet Goose!

Goose is my personal demo dog. Goose is a 4 year old . Her all time favorite things include: playing , hoarding balls 🎾, working for her tug, helping out during training sessions, and cuddling.

I have so much love for this girl as we have truly learned and grown together.

Welcome to Candid K9!

My name is Maddie and this is my demo dog Goose.

A little bit about me:
In high school my mom and I adopted a Shepherd/Labrador mix named Toby. Although he had just the sweetest face, when we got home we immediately noticed that he exhibited fear aggression toward new people. Learning through our experience with Toby sparked my interest in training dogs.

I have now been in the dog training industry for the last 5 years and love helping people establish a better relationship with their dogs. I firmly believe that it all starts with a solid foundation of obedience.

We recently moved to and are working to build our clientele.
