Hello Everyone. Thank you to everyone who has supported the recovery of Reggie!! He was dumped in Weare and arrived with us a while ago. We managed to capture him and he went to the vet for eye surgery, repair of a horrible leg wound, was castrated and microchipped and he will live at Briar House. He has made fantastic progress from being a feral cat with injuries…… we love him and he is enormous ###x

I am so lucky with my friends and family. They are all looking after me and trying to make me smile. If you remember our Knitting Elf made the Ian Bear as a replica of my lovely husband and she decided I needed an Ali Bear to keep me company. She has blue crocs!!!!!! I hope these Bears make you smile too ###x

Today has been one of the toughest of my life as we said goodbye to the ponies, donkeys, pigs, sheep and hens. They have gone to wonderful homes and we wish them well. They have each other which is very important to me. We have our cats and dogs and we will continue to rescue cats and dogs and promote animal welfare at every opportunity. We already have a new family member, Reggie, he has had eye surgery, a nasty leg injury stitched, been microchipped and castrated and I hope he loves living here xx

Briar House Rehoming. One final BIG ASK.
As you have read earlier all our beloved animals are soon to go to their lovely new home, we are so lucky to have been offered the best possible option for them which is to be rehomed all together. The transportation logistics alone are not easy, but with help from various welfare agencies we have that to hand. Our final ask is for enough funding to cover the cost of fuel to take our animals to their new home. We anticipate this costing in the region of £400 as we have five lorries covering the legalities of multi species movement. The drivers are giving their time for free which is fantastic and so kind but we must cover the fuel costs. If any of you lovely people can spare a little towards this cost please could you contact either myself or Sandy Redmore and we will give you the bank details/PayPal details. They are the usual details if you already have them. We have a Marks and Spencer Voucher worth £40 which will be drawn randomly so one of the donors will receive this prize. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and this final ask as we see our animals off to their new life ###x

I am pottering along with a zimmer frame - still in a lot of discomfort and still no discharge date. There are going to be huge changes at Briar House as my “working like an idiot days” are over. It will be with tremendous sadness that Briar House will be closing. All the animals are being very safely and professionally rehomed. We will just be left with the cats and dogs. I cannot express how I feel and many tears have been shed. But the animals have always come first. We cannot afford to employ people to do what Carole and I do and our level of care cannot be compromised. The Elves will continue to sew, knit and create and we will choose a charity to support each month. Thank you for your love and support and great kindnesses over the last 10.5 years ###x

Hello I am two days post op and feel as though I have been run over by a truck not a Pip. A lot of pain today a very low blood pressure from blood loss. What a pickle!!! Ian and Carole are coming on a big adventure to visit me and apparently it involves marmalade sandwiches under a hat. They assure me that all the animals are fine and a huge thank you to the team for looking after them. It is not a pretty sight but I am still alive!!! Thank you to everyone who came to the fundraiser ###x

Thank you for all your kind wishes. Pip pony knocked me over in the sand arena. I knew I had broken my leg instantly. In fact I have broken my left hip and femur in three places. I managed to phone Ian and we phoned for an ambulance. They said it would be several hours but Ian managed to film my leg position and it then became a priority. Ian and Carole wrapped me in a duvet and held my hands. Eventually we heard the siren coming and two wonderful paramedics gave me gas and air and morphine. Little help for the pain. I was lying in the wet sand for about two hours and in shock and became hypothermic. The paramedics called for back up and none available so they called Cheddar Fire Brigade who lifted me very gently and got me to the ambulance. I was supposed to have surgery yesterday but it didn’t happen. I am on the list for this morning so keep everything crossed. I am in Bristol Royal Infirmary and being well cared for but the pain is unbearable. Ian and Carole and our wonderful team are holding the fort and the Elves are determined that our shopping event will go ahead tonight. I wish I could be with you. Please support our local businesses and the animals ######
