Update on little River… round pen, tarp training and getting the feel of a saddle has gone well. He takes regular walks in the forest and is ready to start learning to pony! The only question is which of the big boys will be lucky enough to teach River how to be a big boy on the trails?

We are so excited to show show off Ewing Mountain Trail Horses’ newest addition. Meet River! He is a 16 month old Rocky Mountain Pleasure horse. He is such a sweet little gentleman. We can’t wait to see him grow into a great trail partner.

Rosebud has returned home to her family a sweet, quiet girl. We are so very proud of her. When she came to us she was overweight and had forgotten her patients and manners. This video highlights her progress and what a nice little lady she is.

Rosebud doing some trail training today with her buddies. She did an awesome job - all the way up the mountain to Chestnut K**b and back home! She didn’t miss a step and was calm and confident the whole way.

Meet Rosebud! Ewing Mountain Trail Horse’s newest student. She came to us at the end of May in need of training and conditioning on the trail. She is a smart girl who wants to please allowing her to progress proficiently.

Our sweet little Abilene is headed to Florida! Congratulations to Caren Risley! She and Abilene are going to make a great pair and we couldn’t be happier!

Last week Abilene made some new friends and completed a 15 mile ride. I was SO proud of her! She was a good girl and had no issues. If you know anyone interested in a great trail or endurance horse, send them our way. She really is a special girl!

Meet Chorro! He is the newest trainee for Ewing Mountain Trail Horses. Two weeks in and I am very excited about his progress. He started out really attached to his buddies and forgetful of his manners! However, he’s a smart boy and, with natural horsemanship training, he is progressing into a well mannered partner.

Abilene is a 14.2, 4 year old, 1/2 Standardbred 1/2 Tennessee Walker. She is super sweet, sure-footed, and loves to work! I have taken her up and down steep terrain, on difficult trails, in open fields, and through knee deep water. She loads well, and stands for bathing and the farrier. Always willing to go with her sweet little country rack - she rides wonderfully by herself, but will also ride in a group. She gets better with every ride and is ready for her forever home.
