Thessus is home!! He had an amazing 45 days of c**t starting, today was his and my first ride and it could not have gone any better. Emotional for sure! We will continue with monthly private training lessons for both of us to grow and learn together. This is just the beginning of our lifelong journey.

Thessus has only been gone 3 weeks but it feels like months and he 100% missed here at home. Today we drove out to see our boy and what a difference in just these few weeks. He has learned to respect the bubble and now crowd or be pushy, allowed the saddle and a rider, participated in the Martin Black c**t clinic, pushed some cows, and introduced to the barrel pattern.

And he's off on a new adventure getting started under saddle with the amazing Mary G at Freedom Farms!
We miss him a lot and it's weird not seeing him down at the barn but I am very excited to watch him learn and transform!

Introduction Ahead!!

Lost Acres family, we so so excited to introduce the two mustangs we brought home this morning!
Originally Kyle was only signed up for one Tag 7627 but when the opportunity came we scooped up a second Tag 7473. Kyle is participating in the Mustang Youth Washington Youth competition this year (Kim did the challenge last year and that is how we adopted Thessus).

Mustangs are given tag number while in the corrals to help identify and track. There are several photographers who follow each herd in the different HMA's so occasionally get a range name but once adopted the horse is named. In some cases the adoptee keeps the range name but in most cases a new name is given.

Tag 7473 is a beautiful bay filly born at the corral in Burns Oregon to a Hog Creek HMA mare in May 2022. And in true Hog Creek fashion she is THICK! I am amazed at how calm and unphased this little filly is. She let Kyle get a first pet within minutes of getting her loaded into the trailer and the second she offloaded she allowed nose boops from the girls, stick rubs, then touches and then pets! Kyle even got the tag off within the first hour. She is truly a little gem!
Since her tag was removed she now has her name, Thyra!

Tag 7627 is a gorgeous little black and white pinto from the South Steens HMA. She was born in the wild to Sire Aiden and Dam Flyye in June 2022. We are so grateful to all the amazing photographers because we were able to find tons of pictures of her in the wild! She is quite shy but not overly reactive. She let all of us (kids included) boop her nose and let Kyle pet her side and neck. She is super sweet and I can tell she wants so badly to get some loves so I know it will come fast. She still has her tag on at the moment but when it comes off we will announce her name!

Arrived back to this mess. Very slick and not safe with our trailer. We are currently .5 mile from home sitting on the pavement. Kyle hiked to the house to get chains. It's uphill the entire rest of the way home. Praying we can get this truck and trailer home safely as our cargo is precious.

We made it to Longview about 45 minutes early and loaded out way ahead of schedule. Headed home with our babies!

Tomorrow is a BIG day as we roll out at the buttcrack of dawn to go pick up our two new mustangs!
We were notified that our girls and the entire MYWY western WA bound horses made it safely from Burns OR to Longview.
Kyle and I have been keeping these girls offline on purpose due to the negativity their HMA gather has had on social media but come tomorrow....we will happily introduce them!

Welcome to Lost Acres!
We are a small family farm located outside of Bremerton, Washington. Our family consists of Kyle and Kim and our three daughters Hakela, Keely and Eisley. Our mini farm is our world. Aside from our daughters our famil includes:
Vern, our beloved old male yellow lab
Reign, our super protective female yellow lab
Goose, a mallard drake who acts like a dog
Tom, a mallard drake and gooses son
Dan, a mandarin drake
An unnamed pintail hen
And of course Thessus our mustang!

This page is designed to allow our family and friends to follow us along our journey building our life, raising our daughters, playing with all of our fur babies and yes gentling our mustangs.
