Dr. Jessica Lubbers is a native of Ida, Texas and the Grayson County area. She completed K-12 at Tom Bean and then went to Tarleton State University for her undergraduate studies. After receiving her degree(s) from Tarleton State, Dr. Lubbers went on to start her
veterinary education at St. She completed her studies and clinical year at Oklahoma State University, graduating from veterinary school in 2018. Veterinary medicine has been a long time passion of Dr. Lubbers'. She grew up with an agricultural background, around many species of livestock, companion animals and whichever species she decided to bring home at the time. She also grew up with a strong sense of community, honesty & integrity. She is proud to be able to open her own veterinary practice and serve the community in which she grew up in.

Lubbers Veterinary Services will be closed Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th. I will be out of town & there will be no veterinary or emergency services. ‼️UPCOMING VACCINE CLINIC @ the City of Bonham Animal Shelter on SUNDAY, AUGUST 18TH from 2pm to 5pm‼️
*1) Pricing is the same at each clinic.
*2) These are walk-up clinics, held outside. No appointments necessary.
*3) It's Summertime in Texas, which means it's hot! There will be a few canopies set up to cover the immediate area where the vaccine clinic is, however, lines do sometimes get long. If you are concerned that you or your pet will get hot, bring water for both & a bowl for them. We do not provide water bowls for dogs to drink out of -- this is an excellent way to spread disease from dog to dog with unknown animals drinking out of the same bowls. This would be like a group of toddlers all drinking out of the same sippy cup & spreading germs.
*4) There will be a limited amount of heartworm, flea & tick prevention at each of the clinics available for same day purchase. I will have Tri-Heart Plus, Credelio, Capstar & Revolution Plus for cats. However, with an up-to-date heartworm test on file, this will allow you to order up to a years' worth of heart worm or combo preventative online (through Chewy) for the animal that was seen at the vaccine clinic that day.
*5) If you are only wanting to purchase flea/tick preventative. Your pet must be present at the vaccine clinic that day so that we can obtain a correct weight on the animal, physically see the animal & fill out paperwork accordingly. (Unless we have seen them at a clinic in the last year). These are prescription products only sold through veterinarians. If your pet is not present, we will not sell you prevention.
*6) As a reminder, this IS NOT a time that I can see your sick or "hey I just need you to look at this" animals. I simply don't have the time on vaccine clinic days to do this before, during or after. This also takes away from the generosity of those who are letting me use their space for my vaccine clinic. Please email me or call to schedule a regular appointment. Right now, email is best.
*7) Lastly, we do not 'take names' or write your name down early if you arrive early. You are more than welcome to be courteous adults & start forming a line outside of the vaccine clinic area so that we can continue to set up during your early arrival. It's always a time crunch to get everything set up. We start at the time that is advertised, not any earlier.

Life wouldn't be fun if it were always easy! The not so great part about having an office on wheels. Unfortunately, my rig is down for a little while.....but thanks to Lone Star Haulin' out of Sherman for getting the trailer loaded up quickly & easily! They were awesome!

Lubbers Veterinary is looking for a team member who has office related experience scheduling, answering phones, staying on top of voicemails, emails, completing vaccine certificates, scanning in files & performing computer work while traveling down the road. Experience needed for the office part of it, not the traveling part.
This has to be filled by someone who does not get carsick & can stay attentive to detail while traveling down the road with a lap desk. This also needs to be someone who can write what they need to write down while on the phone, but then be able to accurately, correctly & in a timely manner either transfer that information into an appointment on the computer or ask me questions that you don't know the answer too, relay back to the client &/or schedule an appointment. Either way, you have to be able to correctly relay what it is the client said/asked on the phone about their animal.
The days worked would only be 2-3 days a week, but they can be very long days. 8:30am to late evenings & sometimes even into the night depending on how the day goes & what towns/appointments we cover that day. This role would be best suited for someone who does not have weekly obligations that have to be met at certain times, etc. Set days worked can be discussed upon interviews/hiring as well as pay.
This is a role that entails a different setting than your normal office setting. I am a mobile only veterinary service, which means the phone, computer & records stay with me on the road. However, while I am running up & down the roads all day & working on appointments, I need someone who can carry out the office work for me. You'll get the 'luxury' of us being rigt beside each other for a large part of the day, so questions or concerns you may have can be easily answered.
I am not currently looking for a technician or veterinary assistant, I am truly looking for a mobile office assistant/receptionist. This will not be a hands-on job with animals, this will be an office role. This is not a remote job -- you will be expected to travel with me on the days you are working.

I usually keep things simple & non-dramatic, but as I'm trying to catch up on office work this afternoon, I'm fed up & feel like this needs to be said.
The amount of hateful emails & voicemails I have gotten from simply being out of town & enjoying days off with family is absolutely unreal & extremly disheartening. I'm currently working on over 60+ voicemails, over 100 emails, being a solo practitioner, vet tech/receptionist & running appointments. I'm not sure how much is expected from 1 person, but I won't tolerate the degrading & hatefulness.
Clients want to continue to complain & ask themselves why there aren't enough veterinarians in the area, etc. ---- this is exactly the reason why. I am expected to be at your service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That ruins a person quickly. --- & heaven for bid I go to continuing education or spend time with my family.
Just a reminder, Lubbers Veterinary is operated by one person & one person only. If this doesn't work for you when choosing a veterinarian, then maybe you need to choose an office that can have a less personal feel (& likely rarely actually talk to the veterinarian), but get your questions answered in a minute.

Just a gentle reminder that the vaccine clinics are unfortunately not for sick exams, something is wrong with my animal appointments or hey, can I just run by while you're setting up so you can take a look at my dog? --- If I allowed that then I would never even get the vaccine clinic itself set up.
Just asking for clients to understand that taking advantage of time that I've set aside to prepare for a vaccine clinic that has been scheduled is not the appropriate time for me to just stop what I'm doing & see your pet --- that's what scheduled appointments are for. I also try to treat all clients with the same respect & courtesy, therefore, if I allowed it for one client, then I would need to allow it for all clients & then who would have time for a vaccine clinic at that point?
The vaccine clinics take alot of work to set up & run --- despite the time & effort it takes, I really enjoy doing them for the community -- but, unfortunately, if clients can't respect boundaries, then I may have to discontinue the vaccine clinics. I do not have any plans to do that, but as Lubbers Veterinary continues to grow, it seems as though I have more clients expecting me to be able to take away from pre-arranged time & see their 'something is wrong with my pet' animal at the drop of a hat & during set up at the vaccine clinic --- I simply cannot & will not do that.
