My names Arina and I run Arina's Dog Grooming and am based in Woof & Go Wellness Centre in Grendon Underwood.
I am City and Guilds Level 2 qualified and trained as a bather/dryer/trainee groomer at the salon before starting my little business.

I love grooming and really enjoy that I have such a wide range of clients. I love a big hairy dog who needs a thorough deshed as much as I love a doodle, cockerpoo or spaniel! No day is ever the same, which is why it is such a fun, rewarding career.
Don't get me wrong, it can be very challenging at times and extremely hard on the body too, but who needs a gym when you can brush out dead undercoat?! 🐾🤣

I am fully insured, DBS checked and Canine first aid trained and have been grooming for around 5 years. I worked with dogs before I ventured into grooming as a dog walker and kennel assistant.

Outside of work you can find me usually walking my rescue dog Kimchi in the woods foraging for wild mushrooms and plants, drinking tea, gardening, hiking, wild swimming or some other adventure! 🏊‍♀️🌄🚶‍♀️🍄🌿

How exciting...my first time poodling a poodle! Little Dobby 😍 this was my first groom with him and he did not particularly like his feet being done, so I did what I could so that he was not too stressed by the process.
There's lots to improve on with the groom, and us groomers can be very critical of ourselves, wanting every hair cut to be absolute perfection, but with every groom there is something to learn 🥰

Is your dogs coat compacted? Our double coated dogs coats can look great on the outside, but hiding underneath can be a lot of dead fur that is waiting to come out. The dead coat, if not brushed can stay within the undercoat causing it to tangle up together and create a dense barrier between the skin and air. This can cause your dog to be very uncomfortable. They will feel much hotter as their body cannot naturally regulate as well as causing issues to the skin, as air cannot flow easily to it. Check your double coated breeds by trying to part the hair, if it looks very clumpy rather than free, then a deshed is needed! Is your dog double coated? Some popular examples are: 🐾 Golden Retriever 🐾 Labrador retriever 🐾 pomeranian 🐾 Husky 🐾 German Shepherd 🐾 leonburger 🐾 Old English sheepdog 🐾 Border Collie Double coated breeds require regular grooming to ensure their coat and skin stays healthy and they are comfortable. Regular correct brushing 2-3 times a week will help you keep on top and may require more during shedding season! 🛁 🧽
