Welcome home Luna.
Luna went missing from home on the 26th November with no definite sightings. The strange thing being, she was less than half a mile from home and she knew the area. Following discussions with Mum, it appeared that Luna was being prevented from returning home by a large black cat that had been seen bullying her previously.
A sighting came in a few days ago from a wonderful couple who confirmed they had seen Luna in their garden. We attended Thursday evening, placed a trap and camera but Luna didn’t make an appearance, well not until 1.15am on the camera.
We went again on Friday as Storm Darragh was on her way which hindered things slightly. Again a no show from Luna but the large black cat appeared on the camera.
Today, we attended, praying that the black cat hadn’t moved her on, additional traps and cameras were set and thankfully, Luna appeared, was hungry and was thankfully trapped.
A huge thank you to the sighters who gave us free roam of their garden.
As Mum lived so close, we surprised her and took Luna straight home, the reunion video is in the comments, ensure you have the sound ON, this emphasises exactly why we do this in all weathers. ❤️
What a day 😳 out trapping a mum and kittens and a fox walks past in daylight clearly something was very wrong by it’s behaviours , it was heading for the main road , There had been reports on Facebook yesterday regarding this fox , managed to contain it within 2 gardens then had to keep it from coming through the railings with a cat carrier for over an hour 🙈 until the fox rescuers arrived ,We can’t thank them enough as soon as they approached the fox they agreed it definitely needs help and they have taken it straight to the vets ❤️
We have a tough day today in the rain so thought we would start it by sharing this video of one of our foster carers cats , So if you adopt a cat from us that Kirsten and Owen have fostered it may just come fully toilet trained 😂😂😂😂
Tigger on the toilet 😳
We have just trapped him so now safe x
Rescue space kindly offered by Mansfield cat rescue x
Any rescue space anywhere, This poor boy sleeping in an outside shelter but has an obvious issue with eye sounds really bunged up and must be poorly as letting the feeder get close without running , We can go and trap x
Rescue space only due to vet bills and vet care x
Another street cat safely inside.
This one was highlighted by a local that lives near a team member. It was always in their garden and was always ravenous, eating between 8 and 10 pouches per day. All the usual posting on local groups was done with no one stepping forward for this stunning, unchipped cat.
With the horrific weather forecast predicted, our good friends at Save a Stray offered a space and with probably, the quickest trapping in our history, this one is now in a warm bed and safe.
In the last few days, this makes TWELVE street cats and kittens we have brought in, all now out of the snow and freezing conditions.
