2 ways we are not your “traditional” beef farm.

1. We do not have a “calving season” here. We calve year round. No real reason why. It’s how we always did it when we were dairy farming and just carried it over to raising beef. It ends up working out better since I have animals finishing at different times, not all at once.

2. We cross breed a majority of our herd. Mixing in a little of this and a little of that. Something we couldn’t do as dairy farmers because the herd was a 100% registered Holsteins. Now that we don’t have to live under those rules, we totally geek out with genetics and try to make a well rounded animal.

Today’s 2 new calves: First calf (tan color) she is waygy x charolais.
The Red calf is a Angus x simmental. He is a bull!
