The story piece… this buck caused so many headaches, both hunting him and mounting him. I wanted to capture as much as I could with this mount, both to showcase him and the story. Now 2 years later I can finally sit back and admire this once in a lifetime moment and buck. “The moment before commitment”. After calling in the buck he stood at an old barbed wire fence for what seemed like forever. He was in between breeding a doe and I had vocalized a similar scenario for 10-15 minutes up in the cedars behind me. He wanted to commit, but he didn’t want to leave his hot doe. All he had to do was cross it and it was over. As he turned to head back I left out a nearly un hearable grunt… and with no second thought he crossed. Truly blessed for not only the opportunity, but to be the one to bring him back to life. Thank you Lord
