Yellow-crested cockatoos are named for the beautiful yellow crests on top of their heads. This smaller parrot weighs around ½ pound. They are mostly white and have patches of yellow underneath their wings. It is thought that both the underwing coloration and brightly colored crests are means of communication with flock mates.
The veiled chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) is one of three invasive chameleon species in Florida. The oustalet’s chameleon (Furcifer oustaleti), and panther chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) are also found here. Populations of chameleons in Florida tend to be localized and do not disperse far from site of introduction. For this reason most populations occur in or adjacent to urban areas, and there is little record of them invading natural areas. Due to their popularity in the exotic pet trade new populations are illegally seeded in different areas for sustained collection. #reelsfypシ #cool #animals #nature #reptilekeeper #wildlife #reptiles #chameleonsofinstagram #green #jungle #florida #education #educational #animalreels #fbreels #viral #fun

Oh to be a lounging lemur in the sun! In the mornings after breakfast the Ruffed Lemurs enjoy sitting in the sunlight and taking it all in! This behavior has been observed in wild and it is hypothesized that they do this to warm up before foraging for food.#lemurs #lemursofinstagram #wildlife #primates #sunbathıng #relax #laidback #zoo #zookeeper #cuteanimals #animals #animalsofinstagram #jabarisafari #education #contentcreator #reels #instagramreels #facebookreelscontest #instagram #funnyanimals #funny #coolanimals #explore #miami
@limbanizwf begging for the gum I’m currently chewing while he has some in his mouth already 🤨😅. On Sundays @vice_gone_wild and I get the troop together for socialization time. Social interactions are believed to represent the primary force driving the evolution of intelligence in primates, and are critical to the health and survival of species. Indeed, social interactions are a ubiquitous aspect of our everyday life. #zwfmiami #primates #ape #monkey #wildlife #animals #socialización #troop #primatebehaviour #zookeeper #animallovers #cuteanimals #igreels #reels #instagram #instagramreels #viral #funny #funnyanimals #jabarisafari #facebookreels #friends #animalfriends
CRUNCH CRUNCH! Due to the arrangement of their large jaw muscles, jaguars possess the strongest bite force of any big cat at approximately 1,500 psi (pounds per sq in). These strong jaws allow them to easily pulverize the bones of their prey. In fact they can even bite through a turtle shell and pierce the bony scales found on crocodilians such as caiman. Whereas most big cats prefer to kill their prey by a suffocating bite to the throat, jaguars will aim for the neck seeking to sever the spinal cord or bite directly through the skull fatally piercing the brain.#jaguar #bigcats #bigcat #lion #tiger #leopard #cheetah #wildlife #zoo #zwfmiami #jabarisafari #educational #reels #exotic #miami #animals #animallovers #cats #catlover #zookeeper #nature #facts #instagood #animalsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #eating #asmr
