For $23, you can pay for the sterilization of one island dog or cat 💕🐕 E-transfer [email protected] 🙌🏻This act of kindness prevents hundreds of street dogs from future suffering. We haven’t been very active on social media lately… it’s not our strength! Although we are no longer directly facilitating adoptions, we are still connected with foundations on San Andrés Island. August 3-6th, is holding a sterilization campaign. This campaign sterilizes animals that would otherwise reproduce and further the overpopulation of dogs and cats on the island. Your contribution is so appreciated. Please send us a message if you have any questions! 🙏🏻🙌🏻💕🐕🐈

On Saturday (October 1st) we will be at the .vintage.market (Union Sports Club) selling handmade bracelets, mochila bags, earrings, etc. As always, 100% of proceeds go to animals in need. Profits from this event will go to heartworm treatment for two of our heartworm-positive islanders 💕🐾 Both dogs are currently receiving treatment at Beaver Creek Animal Hospital. Any additional funds will be donated to another local rescue. We have pretty things that would make wonderful gifts or a treat to yourself! We are excited to offer bracelet customization at this event 🤍Please share and come visit us 10am-4pm! This is a pet friendly event so bring your pups and come say hi 💕

Today is a sad day for us. About two months ago, in collaboration with and we decided to pull Mona out of the local “shelter” in San Andres. This shelter is notoriously not a good place to be; it has been run by the government, without veterinary assistance or basic animal knowledge (since early this year). Mona lived there for about four or five years. She was sweet and loved everyone she met. We had planned on flying Mona to a new life in Bogotá today. We wish this happened. Unfortunately, Mona experienced cardiac and respiratory failure as the result of late stage heartworm disease 💔 Mona passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of Dr. Sheilla ❤️ She spent her last two months at the clinic getting lots of love. She was happy. We are sad but grateful for all the wonderful support for Mona. In Mona’s honour, we are planning to take another dog out of the municipal shelter to place in a loving home. If you would like to commemorate Mona with a donation, e-transfers can be send to [email protected] ❤️ 100% of all donations go to veterinary and care costs associated with our Islander pups. Rest easy, sweet Monita 🐾❤️ A special thank you to

Zoe update 🙌🏻 This girl is THRIVING with her forever family. Here is a message from her family 💕 This is why we do what we do! Yay Zo!!! “Zoe went to her first backyard party yesterday. There were easily 40 people there, but our shy girl wasn't fazed in the least. She knows how to work a room! I've never seen such manners. She quietly accepted pets from anyone offering, starting with the youngest guests, didn't beg, but got lots of treats. People took pictures of her and asked all about her. We were so proud of her behavior.
When you told us she was "special", we weren't entirely sure what you meant, but we're catching on now! We feel so lucky to have her.”

As of September 28th, 2022, commercial dogs, which includes our dear rescues, from Colombia (and many other countries) will be banned from entering Canada. We are saddened by this and strongly disagree with this government decision. There are many ways to prevent the entering of communicable diseases that don’t require a full out ban. We hope that the eventually revokes its decision. For now, we plan to support dogs on the island through sterilization and sponsorship. Our social media accounts will share stories of wonderful islanders in Canada and in Colombia. Furthermore, we will be accepting orders for custom bracelets to sponsor a special senior dog on the island 💕🌴

ADOPTED ❤️
MEET YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND

Meet Princess Zoë AKA Zo Zo, Zoë

Zoë is the most loving and loyal girl that you'll ever meet. We are not quite sure how or why Zo is so sweet. This snuggle bug has significant scarring on her body from a very cruel human. Despite this, Zo loves humans. Understandably, she is a bit shy at first but she is more and more confident everyday! Zoë loves to cuddle, go for walks, and sniff through the long grass. She is very adaptable to her surroundings. Zoë is currently fostered in a rural setting which she seems to particulary enjoy. She loves horses! This being said, Zoë's main goal is to find a loving forever home where she can spend lots of time with her humans! Zo zo has excellent manners, walks on a leash, has excellent recall, and LOVES her food. Zoë is estimated to be about five years old. We think she would enjoy the lifestyle of a retired family who can hangout with and spoil her! We also think Zo would enjoy being the only dog at her house.

Zoë is set to begin heartworm treatment soon (immiticide). This treatment is covered by the rescue (thanks to our amazing supporters). Don't let Zo's heartworm positive status deter you! She will be heartworm free later this year!

Choose rescue. We see first hand the impact of people choosing to “shop” and not adopt. When you adopt, you save a life, you gain a best friend, and you make the world a better place. When you adopt, you reject the concept of irresponsible dog breeding. Adopt dogs of all ages, abilities, health status, and breeds.

Not all rescue stories have happy endings. Sweet Lilly was held close in Andrea’s arms as she drifted away to the sky 🌈Unfortunately we think Lilly was poisoned before being stuffed into that horrible garbage bag. Our hearts are hurting. We are sad that Lilly could not be saved but take comfort in that she spent her final hours in loving arms. Fly on little one 🌈🐾 Thank you to those incredible people who donated 🙏🏻Your donation will go to help other dogs in need. Sadly Andrea has been notified of 10 puppies that had been partially drowned in the sea today. Some days are just so sad. Hug your pets ❤️

Meet Lilly. Today our partners on the island were alerted to a dog trapped (intentionally) in a black garbage bag, left out for garbage collection. We are heartbroken for this sweet girl. She is now in the shelter and will be getting veterinary care. She will require significant and costly care in order to gain strength and health. Please consider making a donation to our health fund for Lilly 🙏🏻 We will keep you updated on her progress. Donations of any amount are warmly welcomed to [email protected]
