Beautiful and functional - this coop has a lot of run for your flock to have fun!
This 6x18 strong and sturdy chicken coop with an extra long run will be a great added feature to your landscape as well as helping to strengthen your food security. Many times people aren't aware that chickens need 10 sq. ft. of run space per bird. If you plan to free range your hens, a large run isn't essential but is a definite benefit for the times you're away for few days or just want to offer extra protection from those overhead predators. This coop is equipped with 1/2x1/2 hardware cloth for a strong barrier against those ground predators getting into your run area. We add predator prevention latches on all doors leading into the henhouse. Three tempered glass windows with screens for great ventilation are featured as well as a 3/4 plywood floor, treated skids, hemlock board and batten siding, 2x4 framing, large double doors for easy cleaning, and three nesting boxes (more can be added if needed). Bubble insulation is under the roof metal to prevent condensation. This coop is featured with a gutter on the back side per customer request but can be made available for an extra cost.
