Your children should be walking the dog… the dog shouldn’t be walking your children!
If you want your family dog to listen to your children as well, it’s important they spend a little time working with them too.
With a bit of training, your children can safely practice walking the dog! 😄
#TrickDogTuesday
Practicing some newer tricks with Reid today— working towards his AKC Trick Dog Intermediate title!
#SundayFunday
A little behind the scenes of Reid’s newest trick!
#WetDogWednesday
Here’s Reid finally swimming confidently and retrieving! Building up to being able to jump from the dock. 😁
It’s never too early to start training… here’s Marty practicing his recall at a park— at 5 months old!
Jakku’s first time using the treadmill 🐾
Kicked off our Saturday with a pack walk this morning! 🐾
Buddy recently finished his puppy training with us and he has shown so much improvement!
Putting in the work pays off. Buddy’s family put a lot of time and effort into him the last couple months and it shows. One of the biggest challenges they’ve overcome was crate training.
Here’s a snippet of Buddy working on his leash skills to celebrate 🎉
It’s a fabulous day for ✨LEASH WORK!✨
All members of the family should be involved in a dogs training— kids included!
Today I worked with Elliot and taught him how to work with his dog, Shelby. They make such an awesome team and I’m so excited to see their progress!!
Judy showing off her new leash skills with a half-prancy heel!
This is a big improvement from Judy’s first session. She used to pull and insisted on walking ahead. While we are still working on her leash manners, we still celebrate the improvement! 🥳
Exposure to new surfaces and slightly uncomfortable scenarios (such as running across dinosaur bones at a park like Reid!) is great for helping build your dogs confidence, work on their balance and body awareness, and can be a great way to help your dog to build trust in you.
Day 1 of desensitization work with Veggie.
Sat in a parking lot and people watched for a bit. He did great, much better than I expected. So we decided to take a step further and get out of the car. We walked around the parking lot, people were passing us and the most he would do is watch them, then he would redirect his attention back to me. No barking or growling at a single person!
Afterwards, I had my brother come over to meet him. He growled at first, I gave him a correction, then he was perfectly fine and wanted my brother to give him ALLL the attention.
Super happy with our progress today, especially for it only being day one! 🤍
