False. Not all dog breeds respond to training in the same way. Each dog should be trained according to its individual needs, considering the specific issue and temperament. Different techniques may be needed depending on the breed and it's natural traits. Tailoring the training to fit the dogs needs and characteristics leads to better results.

I had the pleasure of working with this lovely Labrador! During the training session, I assessed him and created a clear plan for his family to follow. The focus is on getting him to pay attention to his owner during the walks, especially when there are distractions.

We practised engagement exercises to help him stay focused on his owner and be calmer on the lead, particularly when approaching other dogs. We also introduced the 'leave' command and worked on ways for him and the cat to be together peacefully. Impressively, he kept his attention on his owner and completely ignored the cat.

Now, the goal is to help the cat feel more comfortable around him. The session went really well and with such a dedicated family, I'm excited to hear about his progress! X

Meet the adorable Rocky! I visited his home for a Puppy Consultation and we had a wonderful and productive session.

We focused on:

⭐️ Loose lead walking: We worked on the heel position, praising him for walking calmly by his owners side.

⭐️'Leave' command: Rocky practised the leave exercises and listened well to his owner.

⭐️ Socialising: How to greet other dogs in a friendly and calm manner.

⭐️ Confidence building: How to boost his confidence with other dogs, ensuring that interactions were positive without forcing them.

⭐️ Recall: Excellent recall skills,
Coming back to his owner promptly when called.

Throughout the session, Rocky maintained great focus on his owner, even at the park with all its distractions. He's well on his way to becoming a well-behaved and confident dog, with a loving family to support him.

Enjoy the process of training your dog! Provide clear direction so your dog knows what to expect, and always praise and reward the behaviour you want. Remember, consistent practise is more important than aiming for perfection every time.

Every interaction with your dog is a training opportunity. By establishing clear boundaries and consistently reinforcing commands, you create effective communication between you and your dog. Do you find yourself avoiding places because your dog cant relax? Your dog is barking, pacing, panting and is unable to settle in different environments. Teaching your dog to be calm in various settings is essential for their overall health and well-being.
