We did Mani’s X-rays yesterday, fortunately her elbows look great and unfortunately her hips look awful. She will not be bred and I will post her X-rays when the results come in. They were submitted to both OFA and Pennhip. I am heartbroken and will be making some changes to our pages over the next couple of weeks.

It’s been awhile.

Due to circumstances in 2022 we weren’t active. In comparison, this year has already been a lot of fun! In January, we got some health testing done. We finally redid Mani’s CGC, and I made sure to submit it properly this time (lol). Yesterday, we got back from our first full AKC show weekend at Midland. We got to meet a lot of friends old & new, put hands on a lot of nice dogs, and learned a lot from everyone!

We’ve got quite a bit started, and much more to accomplish this year. Mani is now:

Results from today- Mani got her last comp win needed for her CH, her total dog ribbon, and earned her SPOT. Due to me messing up, she didn’t get SPOT-ON, so we’re doing that tomorrow. She’ll also be a finished champion tomorrow, too!

Mani Mani got swabbed for Embark today! Her dam inherited one copy of DM, which means Mani has a 50% chance of inheriting that copy from her. Since DM in Chows hasn’t been tracked, we’re currently unsure if dogs with one copy can be affected by it, so it will be interesting tracking these dogs to see what happens. Fingers crossed that Mani is clear, though!

All of our dogs & puppies have DNA testing completed before breeding and going home through either or both Embark & UC Davis. In my opinion it is important to contribute to research however we can and this is an easy way we can do our part.
