It’s Giving Tuesday!

I want to thank everyone who has given generously to us already throughout this year.

I also wanted to take a moment to show and remind you of why I have dedicated my life to these animals. So many of them have flourished since coming into our care due to your generosity.

You might remember Eleanor who came to us at the end of 2023 after being attacked by a predator. It took about a year of beak care and hand feeding but look at her now. She recently has begun to eat on her own. And then of course there’s Potato…the walking miracle stud, I mean spud. So full of fluid from heartworm disease that he could barely move. And his now pic says it all. Boy was this lover boy worth the time, work and money put into him. He is absolutely the best dog around, who is still around because of you!

If you’re looking for an organization to donate to this year, please consider us. We may be a small drop in the bucket in terms of making a change in this world but this girl is a swimmer who knows the lifeguard and his name is Jesus.

The raccoon recreation center (a.k.a. the sanctuary Daddy’s woodpile) got an upgrade today.

We used components of our recently destroyed goat playground for fun.

It’s rainy this evening but I did have a few visitors and some interest. And Xavier, my fav possum, walked down the slide which tickled the heck out of me! 😆

Lulu and Eloise I couldn’t be more in love with these two old ladies. ❤️I’m so blessed to be their mommy. ❤️

Update on Ms. Eloise, our new girl. Eloise visited the vet earlier this week and so we have a little bit clearer picture of what all is going on with this PRECIOUS ‘ol lady.

Eloise has an enlarged heart that is taking up the majority of her chest cavity thus the reason it looks like it’s somewhat hard for her to breath. She is heart worm negative and while that’s a relief she will require several medications daily to drain some fluid and help ease the pressure on her heart. She also has a double ear infection so her ears were packed with meds. She has had mammary surgery in the past on both mammary chains so obviously there’s been a history of masses. In regards to the masses in her mouth and under the upper eye lid, our vet feels confident that she can have those removed after she’s been on her heart meds for a couple of months.

Thank you so very much to everyone that donated toward her vet visit. It’s never cheap when you have to run all of the diagnostics on these senior kids to find a starting point, and then then surgery on top of it is a stretch. I couldn’t continue to do this without your support so thank you.

I know…I know…trust me…I know.

But there was no way I was letting this old lady live a life on the streets. She is a senior, with a mass on her gums, one under her upper eye lid, a rash on her belly, really bad skin, horrendous teeth and labored breathing. She is in pretty bad shape.

She has an appointment this afternoon. I’m gonna need a miracle and a prayer. We are in a serious financial crunch. We are constantly chasing our tail(pun intended) just to cover the basics. I can’t do this one alone.

It’s been an entertaining evening at the wildlife backyard buffet.

The dark little possum there on the far left end of the trough is Xavier, he’s a regular….along with Nancy the raccoon and her kids.

(And no I’m not trying to trap any of them…😆the trap you see on the right is for a new kitty that’s been lurking for awhile).

This beautiful girl is Sprinkles.

I received a message from Sprinkles’ mom this morning looking for help with her hen that had been attacked by a dog.

Please keep this baby in prayer. It’s going to take a miracle for her to pull through this. She is currently stable and has had antibiotics, pain meds and her wounds have been treated. As you can see she surprised me by eating some eggs and noodles! 🙏❤️

🆘$5 before we FLOAT AWAY FRIDAY! 🆘 If you’re in south Texas then you know that we’ve been inundated with rain the past 6 weeks or so. I made this video last week. Over the holiday weekend we rented a tractor to help us deep clean pens and move fallen trees. And it just keeps raining….all of the rain costs us more money in bedding and supplies to try and keep everyone as dry as possible. We are fighting flies/ maggots/mosquitos etc. daily. WE REALLY COULD USE HELP! 🥴 …and God willing a tractor.
