Farmer's Peafowl was formed from our love of all things fowl. We are small breeder located in Osage City, KS.

We focus on breeding a variety of Peafowl and Guineas.

Happy Guinea Day! Apparently, people other than me think guineas are cool enough to have a day of celebration. Zelda was the name of my first Guinea. She was a classic Guinea; mean, wild, and terrible mother bird. I don’t have a picture of her but she is a bird I will never forget.

Never had this happen before. Had a hen sitting on some Cochin eggs and she got off the nest two days ago with the chicks that hatched. Went in the barn tonight and heard peeping. Guess it’s been hot enough to incubate eggs outside! These two hatched on their own, no hen!

I have been getting less Guinea eggs than usual the past few days and I was blaming the change in weather. Guess I just found the real problem.

The babies have started to come out of the nest box this week. All ten are growing like weeds.

We turned on big mama this week. First batch of the year we have Dewlap Toulouse eggs, exhibition black Cochin eggs, Mexican speckled bobwhites and a few bantam partridge Wyandottes. Very excited to start a new hatching season!

We have baby Flemish Giants. First time momma and she is doing good.

It’s been a rough Peafowl week! This girl decided to compound break her wing. The wing had to be amputated, but the bird is a fighter. She is in the good care with Katie and we hope she makes a full recovery.

It was a seller market at the Heart of America Game-bird Breeders Association auction yesterday in Gardner, Ks. We were able to fine some good bargains with a good businesswoman eye of Kaitlyn Farmer, in the hunt. Recessive Lilac Turkey!!! These were a true find and hope to have pullets from them this year. See HOAGBA Auction in September.
