Time flies! It feels like yesterday that I walked into for the first time to find the fabric for our first ever collection.
Before I started Hudson Houndstooth, I spent a decade in the fashion industry where I witnessed first hand the waste, exploitation and greenwashing that plagued it. I had dreamed of being a designer since I was a little girl (I sewed my first pair of pants when I was 9), but the realities of the industry left me disheartened and questioning my place in it.
My love for animals and my desire to help those in need because my driving force in my journey to create Hudson Houndstooth.
We have had our ups and downs over the years. As a small company (literally me and Ollie of course 😂), committing to sustainability and ethical practices and ensuring the highest quality pieces while also trying to keep prices affordable has been difficult. However it is a challenge I believe worth taking on!

A little about me: I spent a decade in the fashion industry and while I loved designing, I couldn’t help but notice the flaws within - the waste, the greenwashing and the exploitation of workers. It was time for a change. 🌿🌎 So, I set out to create an ethical brand that not only embraces style but also makes a pawsitive impact on our planet and the people (and dogs) on it. 🌟

Do you have a dog that’s 75lbs or more and clothes don’t come in their size? Have you bought an XL thinking it would fit and barely fits on their head? 🤔 Having bought a size XL for Ollie who is clearly not a large dog I get the frustration! 😤 There is no standardized sizing for dogs so a Large at one company could fit a golden retriever at one company, a beagle at another and a chihuahua at a third. That’s why the sizing of our clothing is instead based on your dog’s back length measurement. We have 11 different sizes ranging from an 8 for an 8” back length to 28 for a 28” back length and has fit dog 100lbs+. When I launched clothing this year, it was extremely important to me that it was inclusive for pups of all sizes and that larger sizes weren’t treated as an afterthought. Our fabric is repurposed from the fashion industry, always in new condition, and never previously turned into clothing. And we aim to use 100% of the fabric we source.
