Jill Pauls grew up on a working farm and spent a lot of time out in the barn taking care of a variety of animals. She was also involved in the local 4-H club taking on projects in Beef, Sheep, Light Horse and Photography. Along with growing up on a farm, Jill grew up playing a variety of sports. And of course along with playing sports, come injuries. Her injuries were mainly soft tissue but she learnt the value of massage and bodywork in treating them to recovery. Jill also learned and experienced the compensatory problems that come in the aftermath of injuries.
This was the beginning of Jills journey into massage and bodywork for animals. The beginning of 2007 Jill started her studies in British Columbia with the HJW Equine Studies Program. Since then, Jill has completed externships for:
Equinology EBW Level 1
Canine Myofascial Release
Caninology CNBW Level 1
NeuroKinectics Practitioner Level 1
Jill is currently working on her EEBW and CCBW Level 2 and Equine MFR.
As a bodyworker, Jill works alongside the owner as a part of the animals health care team which would include veterinarians, trainers, farriers and equine dentists. By working together, the overall wellness of your animal is put first. Jills goal as a bodyworker would be to have your animal run a little faster, jump a little higher and move a little easier with every session.
Continuing education is also very important to Jill. Not only is it a part of maintaining her membership with the IEBWA but also to grow her knowledge and get to converse with other therapists, vets and health care professionals to further help clients and their animals. Jill is committed to attending classes throughout the year as she is always striving to be better.
“I enjoy what I do and just want to thank all of my clients and their animals be they horses, cattle, dogs, sheep or donkeys, for all their encouragement to keep learning, patience in realizing sometimes helping them isn’t always a sprint from A to B but a marathon, for pushing to find answers and for challenging me. You make me strive to be a better therapist every time I work with you.” - Jill Pauls
