The Tip for day 3 of Pet Poison Prevention Week is here! Today we're talking about spilling the beans. Veterinarians aren't concerned with your dirty secrets or recreational activities (and will not report you for them.) Accidents happen and you should not feel shame or embarrassment.
Their goal is to make sure your pet gets better as quickly as possible. Always be honest with your vet about drugs, harmful substances, or anything else you suspect your pet might have been exposed to.

Dr. Kate Allen from PetMedic Urgent Vet Care Clinic - Freeport is back to give more tips about what to do when you think your pet has eaten something dangerous.
Here's tip 2! Take 2 minutes to write down what you know. The who, what, where, when, why of the situation. Save packaging and take pictures when applicable. This will help your veterinarian or poison control move more quickly.

It's Pet Poison Prevention Week. Our urgent care vet clinics see many cases of curious cats and dogs eating something they shouldn't have. We sat down with Dr. Kate Allen of PetMedic Urgent Vet Care Clinic - Freeport to discuss what to do if you suspect your pet has ingested a toxic substance.
Here's her first tip: Call ASAP! The faster you call your veterinarian or ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center the better the outcome will be for your pet.
