We are holding 2 fundraisers to help
Operation Save A Shelter Dog, Mycah and other dogs that desperately need funds and loving homes to save them.

I have to ask this question because in my mind and my heart this is not sitting well with me. Only 1 person has donated to help him and since it appears that there isn't any financial help for him, do I just make the decision to put him down without knowing the answer or if there is help for it? Today his foster mom called me and it appears he starts coughing with each step he takes :( Trying to get him set up with a vet that has an ultrasound machine is turning into a real struggle and it is even being suggested he go to the emergency room where they will take care of it all. I can't even imagine the price at an ER. So you see how I am stuck in a bad place right now? Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
This is another sad but true story about another of our rescue dogs, and his name is Mycah. He came to us with Heartworms and he was treated. A couple of months ago his foster mom told me he started coughing, which he didn't have before with the heartworms. I told her to take him in for more x-rays, as he had them before his heartworm treatment, to see why he might be coughing so much. The vet herself called me to tell me his x-rays were horrible and so dark.
She told me she had fostered dogs with lung cancer before and this is what their x-rays looked like :(
Since they don't have an ultrasound machine there she recommended that he be seen by a specialist that does and could take a biopsy to confirm. In my heart he may have it but I don't want to wait and see if he just collapses and dies. I want to confirm and to see if there is a certain protocol or treatment he can have.
As you can see he is a very happy, playful boy that deserves a chance at something.
I do know that we need at the lowest end, $1500 and we honestly don't have that at this time and we just can't afford to wait until by some miracle that should come my way.
I know many people continue to donated to us for our medical needs dogs but as each day passes we find another problem in other dogs that we never expected.
I believe in them getting a fighting chance. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose but at least they do not go on untreated.
His foster mom Susan Leshock Holsclaw has been waiting for me to give her the go ahead, and I did, with or without the funds. I will figure it out somehow. I just have to.

This beautiful pup is Luca. We took him in as an owner surrender with a foster to adopt mom. He needs some serious basic training with someone in the Richmond area of VA that has already secured once we raise the $700. He's an overall great pup but he barks at every tiny sound he hears and every person he meets. Once he gets his training we are hoping mom will seal the deal with the adoption. When we got him no one had any idea that he did this and being the foster lives in a duplex has been a nightmare for all involved. Thankfully they are moving into a house in 2 weeks.
Can you please help us help him?

Two new fundraisers will soon be on their way!

1st fundraiser....
We will be holding another auction to help with 2 stray dogs and 1 abandoned dog. Julia Buie has helped me with them so ALL funds raised from this auction will go to Operation Save A Shelter Dog to help cover their expenses. One is unfortunately HW positive.

I have created the album to start posting the listings. Lauren Scott has offered to help me with this auction. We will be working on posting the pictures first with the details. Then I will be posting the details and dates of the auction.

Pet Calendar!
This will be our 4th year doing a calendar fundraiser. Each year I get better at doing the pictures and editing.

I am really looking forward to working on this year's calendar with the new editing tools I learned/learning and my new chromebook.

I am also excited about doing this calendar fundraiser because I get the pleasure of working with Julia Buie to design.

I choose Operation Save A Shelter Dog as the rescue to receive the donations raised from this fundraiser with a sub-donation going to the local food bank I am associated with The Kim Scott canine and feline foodbank ran by Sybil Brown.

So last night while someone stopped by to pick some stuff up.

My Foster dog Lady went exploring through the packages I JUST finished for the auction.

Thank God my husband came in when he did. Lady managed to tear open 4 packages and ONLY ruined ONE thing.

A toy football she punctured Holes in. Unfortunately it is no longer available for sale BUT on the other side, Lady really enjoys it!

I guess Lady really wanted that toy! She has not left it ALONE.

Virginia and North Carolina please share Sammy.

This is Sammy.
He is a two-year-old 54-pound lab mix.
He gets along with dogs and cats and is a great cuddler.
He loves to keep an eye on what’s going on in the neighborhood but doesn’t bark. He is house and crate trained and loves everyone he meets. He would do great with other animals or in a home where he is the only pet.
This boy is truly a sweetheart and would never leave your side!
