In what ways are you reducing your carbon footprint and making the environment a cleaner place for your kids and their kids, kids? Plainly put, a carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases that are being generated by our actions. In this scenario, let’s talk about carbon dioxide and methane. Carbon dioxide is released when driving a gas-powered car, using electricity generated from coal, natural gas, or oil, and or using gas to heat our home. Half of the Methane gas that is in the atmosphere was/is produced from decaying organic materials. Such as the food we waste that's seeping into the ground of the landfill. Livestock animals’ bowel movements and “cow burps” are big contributors to greenhouse gases.
