Notice that baby safe bed rail?

It's the people's responsibility to make sure their pets live in a safe place. Whether that looks like protecting us from cars and predators or feeding us safe things or installing a bed rail so we don't fall off their very tall bed.... which I might've done a time or two prompting this setup.

We're not human babies but we're helpless and dependent on our caregivers in many of the same ways.

I used to really not like being near an open, windy car window but lately I've really learned to enjoy the wind in my hair and flopping my ears! My people hold me in a death grip while I try to enjoy my ride though. They need to learn to lighten up!

In a harrowing turn of events...

THEY'RE MAKING ME SLEEP IN THE CAR TONIGHT WITH TEMPS EXPECTED IN THE 20°s!!!!

To be fair, the humans are sleeping in the car with me and we have lots of blankets and bedding BUT STILL!!

They seem happy. They keep talking something about "camping"?

Seems to me like they spent an unreasonable amount of money to live like homeless people and I know for a fact this mountain town has plenty of cushy, warm hotels.

First they parade me around Aspen and get me used to living the high life, now THIS? I am beyond offended!

I took my humans on a series of great adventures today!

I started the day out by the hotel's pool (okay, that's the dog potty area, but still...).

We went to the John Denver Sanctuary, the old foot Bridge, the took a drive over the unpaved back road into Old Snowmass. We hiked along the creek; nothing too strenuous; my people are old and half lame but I had plenty of smells to investigate while I waited for their slow selves to catch up.

Best thing is they're thinking of getting me a doggie companion to live with us so I'll have company besides the foster dogs that come and go in our household.

Great times!
