Meet our handsome, big boy (16lbs!) SAM. He was rescued from the streets of Denison a few weeks ago and is now neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any parasites. Sam is a bit shy at first but very loving as soon as he knows he can trust you. He tested positive for FIV but is only 2-3 years old and research has proven FIV+ cats can live a long, normal life with proper food and care as is needed by all cats. We want Sam to go to a home where he will be loved and treated as part of the family. Orlando, FL:

Despite receiving exactly 340 emails on Oreo since our last post on July 17, no one has come for this 9 year old senior baby. He watches other cats across from him get adopted while no one interacts with him as if he doesn’t exist. Seniors like Oreo are treated like this everyday as everyone goes for younger cats and kittens. Just to recap his owner passed away & the family member that took him in suddenly had to move to Brazil, he ended up surrendering him to our shelter as no one was able to take him in. Since his arrival, no one has expressed any interest in him.

Besties we have the power to change that as we can get him seen and heard so he can get a home he can truly be safe in. As in our last post as we want to be transparent, he does like to get petted but he doesn’t like to get picked up. Things can change once he learns to trust again but for now we want to let people know about that. But for now let’s get him home. You know what to do. The shelter is tagged in the post. A549833

Benny needs a family! Can you open your heart?? He has lived a hard life before coming to us and he surely needs to find a place where he will be forever loved and cherished!
Benny is FIV Positive, and he gets overlooked. Its not his fault, and just because he has this , does not mean he cannot live a happy, full life. Yes, he can live with other cats too! (He is fully vetted)!
He is great with other cats, as long as they are laid back and relaxed like he is! The vet says he is between 4 to 6 yrs. of age, he is fully vetted and just a love bug who will be forever grateful that you opened your heart and home to him! He loves being an indoor kitty, hanging out on his cat bed or cat tree and just enjoying life. He loves his fancy feast cat food, and his dry food, and he loves to get belly rubs and purrs a lot to you once he gets to know you!
This poor guy has had a bard life and it is time for him to find a place to call HOME! Can you be the angel for Benny??

Marshall is Magnificent!!

Marshall is all about the people! He is up for adoption with Homeward Animal Shelter (Fargo, North Dakota). If you want a cat that will cuddle with you all day long, Marshall is your man! He wants to be in your arms with his arms wrapped around your neck. If he could be in your lap and never leave, he would be in heaven.

Marshall plays like a kitten. He is very high energy in everything he does be it play or give you love. Marshall seems to be cat selective. He hangs with Simon and Sherman, even plays with Sherman, but he is quite aggressive to some of his foster brothers. Proper SLOW intros would be a must if he lives with other cats. Marshall 11 and a 4 paw declaw. Marshall hasn't been around kids here, but I would expect he would love more people to hold and play with him regardless of size.

Marshall is an insulin dependent diabetic. He was on a prescription food, but recently decided he liked Chicken Fancy Feast and that reduced his insulin needs to 1/3 of what it had been so we have let him stay on the FF and see how that goes. He would really love his own people to cuddle with ALL.THE.TIME.

Anyone know a rescue that could help?
This cutie has diabetes and is about 12 years old. She is spayed and so sweet.

We currently have some very special kitties! First up, please meet Lexi! This sweet CH girl was time-stamped to be euthanized. We rescued her the night before her time was up. Since then, Lexi has received a clean bill of health and is ready to find her forever family!

Cerebellar hypoplasia (“CH”) is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. In cats, this can cause sudden, uncoordinated movements, and loss of balance.

Despite her wobbly gait, Lexi is a healthy and happy gal ready to take on the world. She loves chasing her toy mice, using her scratcher, and snuggling in fuzzy blankets. She is about 10 months old, fixed, vaccinated, and negative for FIV/FELV. She does well with other cats.

Baby Groot is so cute!!

Baby Groot is about 14 and is available at Ohio Alleycat Resource (Cincinnati, Ohio). Baby Groot, himself, is a charming story, according to his foster mom. She says, ""despite his age and medical condition (diabetes), he’s vibrant and engages with us constantly. He loves attention, and the best part is that he’s older so he’s not high energy, but content to snuggle up on the couch, in your lap, or in his heated bed (which will be sent home with him)."" You can even hold and carry him around (he loves that). A few other day brighteners for Groot are bird watching, being brushed, and playing with wand toys. All the guidelines of his care are straight-forward and he’s so good about his daily care. Caring for him is nothing short of rewarding.

Baby Groot has diabetes, a non-contagious condition managed with twice daily insulin shots and occasional blood glucose monitoring. OAR offers limited coverage for this cat’s medical care related to diabetes (contact us for details).
