KIT KAT NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY TUESDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2024 BY 12PM: Hello, my name is Kit Kat. ( ): My animal id is . I am a desexed female brown tabby at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years 1 months 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 9/27/2024. #210999 : Kit Kat is on the At Risk list due to behavior. She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to her stress levels, it is in her best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give her plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers.

Kit Kat tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. They may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to their new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. 10-2-2024: Assessment: Dental disease

Birch Tree interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience, demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.

A volunteer writes: Birch Tree hopped himself into a car and was driven to us to find a family. I can totally see him doing this because he wants terribly to make a good impression. Birch Tree's heard it's best to come right to the front, to greet with nuzzles and a couple of headbutts, so that's exactly what he does. Doing his best to snuggle into my arms, and also explore the Care Center, Birch Tree hopped up onto my shoulders and was ready to go. He's delightfully curious and incredibly trusting. He loves to see what everyone else is up to, looking this way and that with his whole face lighting up each time the door opens. Settled into some pets, he cuddled himself into my arms with so much love that I can't help but want to give him the world. He's a wonderfully outgoing and hopeful little cat who hopes you'll come into visit with him soon. All About Saving Animals Is Not Affiliated With The NYCACC Shelter! 🐈

*Ronan Has Been Placed On A 10 Day DOH Hold For Scratching A Staff Member On 11-19-2024 By Accident! When He Returns From His 10 Day DOH Hold, He Will Be Placed Back On The At Risk List But He Will Have To Go Through A New Hope Partner Rescue!

RONAN NEEDS A PLACEMENT BY THURSDAY NOVEMBER 21, 2024 BY 12PM: Hello, my name is Ronan. ( ): My animal id is . I am a desexed male white/gray at the Queens Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 2 months 1 weeks old. #209227 :
I came into the shelter as an agency on 9/2/2024. Check Out Ronan’s Video: https://youtu.be/wRbiO-qMbpA?si=n4xkBvnIF9kIdliQ :

Ronan is on the at-risk list due to behavior. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. What my friends at ACC say about me:
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!
Ronan tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
