Don’t have many updated photos of the herd due to me only being a few weeks out front my 2nd shoulder surgery, but I wanted to share one of my favorite pictures again 🤍

Pictured is Crazy’s beautiful Buck kid from last kidding season with our Moose

Good news is the few does that did get bred this year are all about 6 weeks post breeding with no signs of heat! 🎉 We are confident all have successfully settled and kidding season should hopefully start around March 14th here, with all of them being due within the same week. 🤪

Kids will be listed as they become available, as the waitlist will be too much to manage this year for me. I also hope to update the website with the pairings within the next week or so.

Our last two of three does were bred today!

Our dam/daughter duo Carvanjo Farm BJ Crazy Love & Tri Circle B Farm Pandoras Box were both bred today to Doodlebug Farm Jack Jack. If nobody recycles we will hopefully be set for our 2025 kiddings. Though we didn’t breed as many this year I think we have some exciting pairings.

Kiddings should start around March 10 2025 🎉

The first breeding of the season happened today, finally! It however wasn’t our anticipated pairing for Eagle Meadows Briar Rose, due to her not liking our pick. 🙄

So we decided to pair her again to Carvanjo Farm ET Dream On, a repeat pairing from last year. While I’m a little disappointed our choice didn’t work out, I’m excited once again to see this pairing. We were extremely happy with how these two complemented each other last time. 😉

One of our kids from this year is absolutely thriving with his new family! Couldn’t have asked for a better place for three of our kids to go to! Thank you The Crooked Shed Farm for giving these kids a chance to shine ❤️

Eagle Meadows Nutmeg and Eagle Meadows Briar Rose 🤍🤍

These two are very different personality wise, however both have some of my favorite physical qualities about them. Both are super wide, with nice front ends and fantastic legs and feet. However Nutmeg has a smaller stature to her, being our shortest doe in the herd and is an absolute love bug. Rosie is our biggest doe in the herd and we lovingly refer to her as the “cat” of the herd, while she loves herself a good neck scratch and doesn’t mind heading over to the milking room she only truly enjoys it when she wants to and there’s no convincing her otherwise!

We have been busy with maintenance on the herd. Yesterday we were able to clip all the boys and I love seeing them all cleaned up. 🧼

This is the first time we clipped Carvanjo Farm ET Dream On, and of course he was so well behaved and in true ex bottle baby fashion, just happy to get undivided attention for a little while.

Once we finish the doe herd I will begin getting some more updated pictures of the adult herd. But for now some candid photos will due!

Yesterday we made the incredibly tough decision to let go of our Willow. Willow was one of our first goats and was there in all of our learning experiences with goats, she taught us all a lot when it came to goats and provided me with a lot of firsts when it came to caring for the goats.

Though we never bred her, she became the best ‘grandma’ to all the kids that came and gone through our herd, very tolerant and gentle with them. Her and Max were always the first ones to come up and greet you to get loved on, and she absolutely loved gloves, so she could scratch her head on them.

She will be incredibly missed and there will now always be an empty space in the herd, where she once stood. 💔

Brought Nutmeg and her kids out to the side pen today to get out of the barn. I am just so happy with this litter! Nutmeg is one of my favorites here, she is the sweetest goat and so easy to work with. She has given us only buck kids her first 2 freshening, so we are happy to finally have gotten a doe kid off of her to keep back. 🤍

We are done! ✅

We finished off kidding season this morning with buck/doe twins from Eagle Meadows Nutmeg by Carvanjo Farm ET Dream On! She went into labor last night around 7pm and was kind enough to wait until around 9am. It was a textbook kidding, and was a perfect way to end kidding season.

The buckling will be available after weaning, the doeling is retained right now.

We ended the season with 5 bucklings and 4 doelings, so we are not complaining about that ratio!

It was a beautiful day out so the babies got out to the main pen to have some extra room to run around! We still have two doe kids that are looking for the right home, and have one more doe due to kid this week and then we are done with kidding season. 🎉

ADGA polled Nigerian Dwarf doeling 👀

This is probably one of my favorite pairings this year.

Rosie freshened with a lovely and productive udder, and has had to continually be milked both her FF and 2F with twins on her as she has consistently out produced their needs. She is a deep doe with a very nice front end.

Dreamer is a young buck, but a very exciting one at that. This is the animal I am most excited to see as he matures and see what he is able to produce.

The oldest two kids enjoying the sunshine ☀️

These kids are absolute monsters this year! These guys are growing like weeds, and are probably one of the fastest growers we’ve had.

Gracey got to come in with us to watch her baby goats hop around, one of her absolute favorite things to do! 🤍

The first round of kids all got moved to their outside stalls today, so we stayed busy cleaning out stalls and outdoor pens… they were all happy to get some extra space, and be able to watch the herd through the fence lines. 👀

Next up to kid is Eagle Meadows Nutmeg, who was also bred to Carvanjo Farm ET Dream On. She is due on April 25th, so a kidding clip in on the to do list for her sometime this week.
