GLEN UPDATE! ⇩
So around May, Glen started to not put weight on his back, right leg and would limp if we took him on any type of walk. We thought maybe it was just sore since this has happened in the past but it didn’t stop.
We took him to the vet, got X-rays and they were pretty sure he had a torn CCL & told us we should see an orthopedic specialist to see what his next steps would be.
At the orthopedic specialist, they told us he for sure had a torn his CCL and surgery would be upwards of $6k. Which is a whole lot of money.
THEN our vet called & checked in with us to see how Glen’s appointment with the orthopedic surgeon went, we explained everything & she then suggested the ꜱᴘʀʏɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴏꜱᴛᴇᴏᴄᴜꜱʜɪᴏɴ ᴛᴇᴄʜɴᴏʟᴏɢʏ, clinical study.
SAYYY WHATTT?! Since June, we’ve been visiting the - first appointment was a joint tap & evaluation and this Friday was the injection! 💉
Essentially, this injection should restore & protect his knee. Here what the injection is/does:
“An innovative intra-articular injectable veterinary medical device that is designed to prevent the occurrence and re-occurrence of joint pain from loss of cartilage or tissue-bone mechanical malfunction by augmenting and reinforcing cartilage to assist in the normalization of joint function”.
We are excited! Glen is the 3rd dog in Wisconsin to receive this injection & for the next 8 weeks, we have to return to WVRC for documentation & evaluations!
It’s been going on 3 days & we already see improvements!! 🙌🏼
And if you’re interested in information on this, please let me know! I will send over all the info!
I’ll keep everyone updated! 🤍
