🐾🎄Meowy Christmas!!! 🎄🐾 Hello Doggy! broke a record today - 20 visits in one day, and all but one with cats!!! I’ve been running around all day and haven’t had a chance to pop on here until now but I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and that Santa Paws brought you everything you wanted this year!

Happy Catsgiving!!! 🐈‍⬛💕🐾 While Thanksgiving is always a super busy time of year for me with pet sits, this is a first - all cats!!! Spooky season is upon us!!! 👻 🎃 I love this time of year with seeing all the pumpkins and spooky Halloween displays. That being said, please give your friendly local pet sitter/dog walker a heads up if you have a motion sensored decoration up. While I appreciate a good jump scare in movies and at haunted house attractions, it scares the Bejeebus outta me in real life. Thank you! 😁

🐾🐈‍⬛HAPPY CATURDAY!!! 🐈🐾

This Caturday post is devoted to Harley! I just completed a two-month pet sit with this green eyed beauty and her brother while dad was away for work. I will miss seeing this social butterfly everyday! She made me laugh everyday when she was so helpful at using the litter box one last time as I was cleaning it! 😹

🐈🐾It’s CATURDAY!!!! 🐾🐈‍⬛

This Caturday, our Cat of the Week is Lucho!!! Despite his name which means fight in Spanish, this guy is a little lover! I had the pleasure of watching him for a week recently and he was the biggest love bug with wanting all the pets and purring away the whole time. 🥰 And, who else thinks he looks like an animated cat?

Rigsby’s prepared for Tropical Storm Hilary! Tropical storms and hurricanes are nothing to this Southern gal who has lived in Louisiana and Florida!

For those of you out there dealing with a tropical storm for the first time, stay calm. If you stress, your pets stress too! Our biggest concern in the SFV is flooding so stay home if you can and take advantage of those breaks in the rain to take the pups out. Keep flashlights and candles handy in case there’s a loss of power also.

As for me, I’ve got some kitties to take care of today so I will be driving around in the rain. 🌧️ But, I’m looking forward to curling up with a book when I get home and snuggling up with my pups. Nothing better than relaxing with a good book and your pups during a storm! 🥰

The dog days of summer are upon us! ☀️ And with a seemingly never ending heat wave everywhere, it’s important to protect our pets and make sure they aren’t getting overheated. 🥵
Some ways in which you can keep your pup cool this summer:
🟡Plan your walks around the coolest times of the day - early morning and evening after the sun goes down.
🔵Keep your walks short and take shady routes. Always bring water with you and take plenty of rests.
🟢Protect your pup’s paws from the hot pavement with booties or paw wax. If the air temperature is 100 degrees, that means the pavement is 160 degrees and can cause severe burns to your dog’s paws.
🟣Get their energy out with playing with toys and mental stimulation games indoors with the a/c on. Treat puzzles and snuffle mats are great for mental stimulation which can be just as tiring as going for a walk. A personal favorite of my pups’ is licking frozen peanut butter out of a Kong!
🟠If you have a pool, take your pup for a supervised swim to cool off. (NEVER leave your dog unattended in the pool, even if it is a baby pool.)

Finally, if you are worried that your pet is overheating and is displaying any of the signs listed in the first picture, be sure to take them to your vet immediately.

B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and Bingo was his Name-o! My new buddy Bingo and I got to hang out ALL DAY yesterday! We had the bestest time going for walks, playing with all the toys, running around in the backyard, and watching Conan O’Brien TV.

Well this was a first — Today when I went to take Yogi for his walk, he was playing with his bone. I thought he had put it down and left it at home, but apparently he smuggled it into his harness to take on our walk! 🤣 I had such a good laugh when I discovered it. It's been such a pleasure to work with you and your pets this past year. Due to the rising cost of doing business, we will be raising our rates slightly. Starting on February 1st, our rates will increase by $1 per walk and $1 per pet sitting visit. This applies to base service rates only, not add-ons. Thank you for being understanding of this necessary raise in cost that helps us cover the cost of insurance and our booking software.

For longer drop-in visits, we like to incorporate dog enrichment exercises like this one into our visit. Not only is it a fun activity to do together, but it helps tire your pup out so they have less anxiety and destructive behavior in the hours they are left alone.
