Thank you to one of our amazing regular donators who arranged for this delivery of guinea pig food today.
We have guinea pig and rabbit food if anyone in the Hainault area is struggling at the moment.
Lots of dog food available too 😀

Today we’ve helped another dog owner secure some food to get her through the next couple of weeks. We really are happy to help.

We still have plenty of wet and dry dog food including a few prescription diets and we also have rabbit food.

We are a bit low on cat food so if anyone is able to donate any we would be really grateful.

Let’s see who we can help tomorrow!!

Diary of a Pet Food Bank

Wednesday

Today we collected 2 pet food bundle donations from amazing local residents.

We redistributed some food to 2 local residents.

One owner is disabled and has a wonderful rescue dog as her companion. This awesome boy spent the first part of his life abroad kept outside in sub zero conditions.We thought he definitely deserved a donation of some dog food!!

Our next recipient reached out having had a recent unexpected expense to pay for which made buying cat food difficult. We were happy to donate cat food to help her over this tricky few weeks.

Good afternoon everyone we hope you’ve all had a great week.

We have lots of pet food here to donate to anyone who might be struggling a bit financially at the moment.

Perhaps you’re a family with pets receiving benefits or an elderly person worried about the cost of feeding your pet at the moment. Perhaps you’re a pet owner currently unemployed seeking a job and just need help for a few weeks to take the pressure off.
Maybe you are a carer for the elderly or disabled and know of someone that could benefit from some pet food donations. Please do get in touch. We are here to help without judgement and in confidence.

We are here to help pet owners that are in genuine need of assistance in the short term.

We also have a small selection of other items such as dog coats, collars and leads.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Research has found that 72% of UK pet owners are saying they think the cost of living will impact their animals, 28% of pet owners are worried about being able to care for their pets and 19% are worried about feeding their pets. The SSPCA 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 have also found that 75% of tenants state they had a pet for emotional (77%) and mental health (83%) support; 37% of tenants have had to choose between a pet and a roof over their head; 28% of tenants stated it took them 12 months to find pet friendly accommodation and 69% of tenants said they would risk becoming homeless if it meant they could stay with their pets.

We have been donated this canine prescription food if it’s useful to anyone? The Hepatic is unopened and there’s also some hepatic in a plastic container. The renal and gastro has been opened/used but sealed well.

We have two reflective fleece lined dog coats to gift to someone in need. Both are new and state the size as medium. However they measure 18” long so I think they might be more suitable for small dogs.

We have been kindly gifted a medium dog crate/cage and a small pen. The pen will need some improvisation as it is only the panels with nothing to attach them together currently. Perhaps some large cable ties would work.
